College of Computer Science and Cyber Security 

Founded in April 2021, College of Computer Science and Cyber Security was formed from integration of the former College of Information  Science and Technology (College of Cyber Security ).

The College has built a team of 90 and 41 lecturers with senior professional titles, 1 teacher with the title of “New Century Excellent Talents in University” from the Ministry of Education, 2 academic and technical leaders and 3 candidates in Sichuan Province, 1 member of the Sichuan Expert Review (Discussion) Committee, 1 leader of Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Innovation Research Team and 1 Vice Chairman of Sichuan Computer Teaching Steering Committee, forming a well-structured faculty team combined with young and middle-aged teachers with senior titles and education background.

The College has set five departments, namely, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Internet of Things and Intelligent Science, Cyberspace Security and Artificial Intelligence, as well as Computer Teaching Department and Computer Experimental Teaching Center. The College has seven undergraduate majors (namely, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Cyberspace Security, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things Engineering, Intelligent Science and Technology, and Digital Media Technology), of which enrollment of Computer Science and Technology and Software Engineering is approved in  functioned as cooperative project, and enrollment of Internet of Things Engineering, Intelligent Science and Technology, and Digital Media Technology is approved in Yibin Campus.

The College now has 2 primary discipline master's degree programs (Computer Science and Technology, Cyberspace Security), 1 professional master's degree enrollment field (Electronic Information: Computer Technology and Software Engineering), 1 primary discipline doctor's degree programs (Nuclear Science and Technology), and 1 secondary discipline doctor's degree programs (Earth Exploration and Information Technology).

The College has 1 national first-class major, 2 provincial first-class majors, 1 Provincial Undergraduate Talent Training Base, 1 Provincial-Level Excellent Engineer Cultivation Plan, 1 provincial application-oriented undergraduate demonstration major, 1 national competitive course, 3 provincial competitive courses, 3 provincial applied demonstration courses, 1 provincial "Double First-Class" practical course, 1 provincial ideological and political demonstration course and 1 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship course.

The College respects students' interests and strives to strengthen the cultivation of talents' practical and innovative abilities by means of conducting competitions and mass entrepreneurship and innovation projects. In addition, it encourages students to join in scientific and technological cultural activities. The number of the students who participate in scientific and technological competitions reaches nearly 1,000 each year. In the discipline competitions such as undergraduate mathematical modeling competition, ACM, computer and network security, over 160 people have won national awards, nearly 300 people have won provincial and ministerial awards, with an increasing number of innovation and entrepreneurship projects over these years. Thus a total of over 300 national innovation and challenge cup projects and over 500 Internet plus innovation and entrepreneurship projects have been applied respectively. The College has also won the national silver medal in the National "Internet Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2021.

So far, the College has cultivated more than 10,000 graduates for the nation, and a group of outstanding alumni, represented by Zhou Yuan, the founder of Zhihu, has made crucial contributions to the national economic growth and social development in the industries like computer, software and cybersecurity.

On the occasion of the education & teaching reform of the university and its efforts on building "a world first-class university with first-class disciplines", and according to the school-running philosophy of "establishing the college through teaching quality, revitalizing the college through scientific research, managing the college through institutions, and strengthening the college through innovation", the College has united as one, seized the opportunity to forge ahead and sought coordinated development of Party building, teaching, scientific research, discipline construction, competent personnel construction, cooperation with foreign colleges and universities, and student work, striving to promote the high-quality development of the College.
