On the afternoon of November 27, the International Students Office of the College of International Education, in collaboration with the Academic and Innovation Department of the International Students Association (ISA) of CDUT, held a successful academic seminar titled “Master the Art of Basic Research Writing and Referencing” in Room 6A304. The event was designed to offer international students professional guidance on academic writing, literature citation, and reference management, aiming to support them in achieving greater success in their research endeavors.

Dr. Joojo Walker sharing insights
The seminar featured a wealth of practical content, focusing primarily on the effective use of literature management tools in the academic writing process. Dr. Joojo Walker, an international faculty member, delivered an in-depth tutorial on Zotero software, covering its installation, functionality, article collection and organization, as well as citation management. His session provided valuable insights to help students efficiently manage their references and ensure the accuracy of their citations.

Throughout the seminar, international students engaged attentively and participated actively. Many participants noted that the session not only equipped them with practical skills for using literature management tools but also boosted their confidence and motivation in conducting academic research. Moving forward, the College of International Education will continue to offer additional learning platforms and opportunities to assist international students in successfully completing their studies.
