The prestigious “2024 Geothermal Professional Committee Annual Conference,” orchestrated by the Geological Society of China (GSC), unfolded its scholarly spectacle in the picturesque city of Dezhou, Shandong Province, on March 28th, 2024. An illustrious congregation of luminaries and stalwarts from academia and industry, hailing from across China, convened to delve into the captivating realms of geothermal science.
As one of the pinnacle gatherings within China’s geothermal domain, this symposium delved deep into the nuances of exploration techniques, development methodologies, origin mechanisms, and utilization paradigms of geothermal resources. Notably, Professor Zuo Yinhui graced the occasion with his erudition, delivering a scholarly speech on the “Methodological Appraisal of Geothermal Resources in Sedimentary Basins.” Engaging in intellectually enriching dialogues with eminent figures from prestigious universities, research institutes, and corporate entities, Professor Zuo gleaned profound insights into avant-garde frontiers, thereby amplifying CDUT’s eminence in geothermal research.
Amidst the symposium’s scholarly fervor, Professor Zuo Yinhui seized the opportunity to elucidate CDUT’s pioneering strides in geothermal specialization, disciplinary fortification, and platform proliferation during an interview with Dazhong Daily. Additionally, he unveiled plans to ink a sweeping collaboration accord on geothermal energy development and utilization with the Second Hydrogeological Team of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources. This synergistic endeavor aims to fortify talent cultivation, accelerate the construction of industry-university-research bases, facilitate joint research initiatives, and expedite the commercialization and sharing of scientific and technological achievements, thus catalyzing Dezhou’s quest for harnessing the transformative potential of geothermal clean energy.
