CDUT Held the 9th International Conference on PDE in the Western Region

From July 29th to August 1st, the 9th International Conference on PDE in the Western Region, hosted by CDUTs College of Mathematics and Physics, took place in Chengdu. The conference extended invitations to more than 20 distinguished experts, including academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, leaders from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, recipients of The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and editors of significant domestic and international journals. The event comprised 4 plenary sessions and 22 parallel sessions, attracting over 300 participants. Professor Zhou Zhongli, a member of CDUT's Party Committee and Vice President of CDUT, presided over the opening ceremony. Additionally, Professor Hou Mingcai, also a member of CDUT's Party Committee and Vice President of CDUT, Academician Jiang Song from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who serves as Deputy Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Professor Xin Zhouping, the visionary behind this international academic conference and Executive Director of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences at CUHK, delivered speeches. They extended a warm welcome to the attending experts and scholars, expressing their hope for active exchanges and discussions between young scholars from the western regions and outstanding experts from both domestic and international arenas. This collaboration aims to drive the advancement of research in PDE within the western regions and foster the growth of young talents.

In the session featuring invited presentations, Academician Guo Boling from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Professor Gui Changfeng from the University of Macau, Professor Lei Zhen from Fudan University, and Professor Zhu Xiping from Sun Yat-sen University delivered plenary talks.

In the parallel session for group presentations, emerging and mid-career scholars from the western region delivered 22 talks on advanced subjects, which encompassed a range of topics including mixed-type partial differential equations, nonlinear elliptic equations, partial differential equations in fluid mechanics, as well as partial differential equations in the realms of mathematical physics and differential geometry.
