On September 24, the Youth Forum of the 14th Congress of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG), hosted by Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), was successfully held at the Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center in Chengdu. A total of 61 international students from Sichuan University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Southwest Petroleum University, and CDUT, majoring in geological engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, and related fields, participated in the forum. Fan Xuanmei, Director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation CDUT, along with other staff from the department, attended the forum. This Youth Forum is a constituent part of the 14th Congress of IAEG.

The conference began with the promotional videos of IAEG and CDUT. Subsequently, Fan Xuanmei extended a warm welcome to the attending students. In her address, she shed light on IAEG’s recent academic milestones and outlined the essential facets of the IRALL school. She cordially invited the international students to pursue their postdoctoral studies at CDUT, all the while encouraging them to maintain the ethos of diligent study and unwavering scholarly pursuit.

After the meeting, representatives of CDUT’s international students, including Khin Ei Thu, Thet Naing Lin, Hani Meree, Destina Godwin Ekekeh, Ibrahim Kunle Adefarati, and Mariya Polyakova, were interviewed upon invitation. They expressed that during this forum, by carefully listening to the research experiences and insights of the experts in attendance, they have gained a profound understanding of the latest research findings and future development trends in their respective fields.
