CDUT Holds the First Autumn Semester Academic Proficiency Examination for International Undergraduates

To uphold the spirit of the 20th Congress and further advance the development of “Study in China”, CDUT successfully carried out the Academic Proficiency Examination for international undergraduates in the autumn semester from November 11th to 12th, 2023. Aligning with the directives of the Ministry of Education and the China Scholarship Council (CSC), the examination aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of international education in CDUT, optimize the composition of students, and promote high-quality development. Recognizing the vital significance of this test, CDUT took comprehensive measures, with the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures spearheading the formation of a dedicated examination team. In strict adherence to the CSC’s guidelines, detailed regulations for the examination process were established. This included organizing and implementing the examination, providing online training for examination personnel, ensuring familiarity with the examination procedures and requirements, and guaranteeing the smooth conduct of the examination. To facilitate this centralized computer-based test, the School of Foreign Languages appointed a technician to debug the devices and to download examination data packages, arranged computer examination halls, and informed students to acquaint themselves with the operating system through a simulated examination three days prior to the actual test. Covering diverse subjects such as Chinese, mathematics, and physics, the examination aimed to comprehensively evaluate the academic proficiency and capabilities of new international undergraduates studying in China.

On the eve of the examination, the counselors from the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation of CDUT provided exam discipline education to candidates, to ensure students to participate on time and submit answers with integrity. During the examination, the invigilators followed the rules, conducted entry checks, monitored the proceedings, and documented the process to ensure the seriousness and fairness of the examination. This examination not only furthered our understanding of the academic proficiency of current international undergraduates at CDUT, but also provided valuable experience for advancing the entrance examination for new international students in the coming years. It represents a crucial initiative in enhancing the quality of international student sources at CDUT. In the future, CDUT will continue to optimize the composition of students, promote the high-quality development of international education, and make tangible contributions to the construction of “Double First Class” in CDUT.
