CDUT's International Students Win Third Prizes in the "Better Sports, Better City" Essay Contest

In the "Better Sports, Better City" Essay Contest (Event or Contest) concluded recently, the entries of international students, TAKIA AKTER and ALI SAFDAR, of Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) won third prizes. The Event was jointly hosted by the International Students Affairs Committee of the Sichuan Higher Education Association, the International Students Education Management Branch of the Association of Higher Education of Chongqing and the FISU World University Games Office of Chengdu Sport University.

The Event aimed to further enrich the campus life of international students in Chengdu and Chongqing, enhance people-to-people exchanges among international youth in the new era, deepen international students' knowledge of and affection for Chengdu and Chongqing and promote their understanding of the development of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and Chengdu's "famous sports city" construction and deep perception of the heated atmosphere of the Chengdu FISU World University Games. CDUT actively mobilized international students to participate in the Contest upon receipt of the Contest notification, and many international students in China submitted their essays. After rounds of selection and expert review, TAKIA AKTER's Sports and its Varieties and ALI SAFDAR's Sports and Health won third prizes in the Contest.

After learning that she won a prize, TAKIA AKTER (nationality: Bangladesh; Chinese name: Shen Jie) in the Business Administration major said, "I like to participate in different types of activities in which I can understand different types of unknown information. So, I participated in the Event and received this honor. I appreciate their recognition of me. This prize will make me more motivated to participate in other activities in the future and more positive in chasing my goal. "

ALI SAFDAR (nationality: Pakistan; Chinese name: Abu), a doctoral student in the Earth Exploration and Information Technology program, said in his acceptance speech, "My university experience has been a transformative journey of personal and academic growth. With the encouragement and collaboration of my supervisor, I have gained valuable skills and knowledge in my lab work. These experiences have helped me develop a passion for science and aspirations to make the world a better place. I hope to continue working with passionate and enthusiastic teachers and students, exert a positive impact through my skills and knowledge and contribute to a sustainable future. "

Participation in the Contest is an important practice for CDUT's international students to enrich extracurricular activities, feel the culture of Chengdu and Chongqing and promote learning through the Contest. In the future, CDUT will pay constant attention to various activities and competitions in which international students can perceive the culture of Chengdu, Chongqing and China, so as to promote people-to-people exchanges among international youth in the new era.
