The Overall Results of a Scientific Research Project of CDUT Reached the International Leading Level

On June 29, 2022, China Highway & Transportation Society organized an evaluation meeting on the results achieved in the project "Key Technologies and Applications for Landslide Disaster Prevention and Control of Highways in West Sichuan Plateau Gradient Zone" by means of the Tencent Meeting app. The meeting was held both online and offline. Seven experts, including Peng Jianbing, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Duo Ji, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, were invited to the meeting.

At the meeting, Prof. Li Tianbin, Dean of the College of Environment and Civil Engineering, presented the results on behalf of the project team.

The Evaluation Committee listened to the report of the project team, reviewed relevant technical data, and conducted an objective and fair evaluation of the innovation, advancement, research level, economic and social benefits and application prospects of the results after questioning and discussion.

After a comprehensive review, the experts agreed that the project could provide innovative theoretical and technical support for landslide (side slope) disaster prevention and control in transportation infrastructure construction under a complex geological environment. The research results have been successfully applied to the construction and operation of many expressways including the Wenchuan-Maerkang Expressway and the Ya’an-Kangding Expressway, with significant economic and social benefits and broad prospects for promotion and application. The project research results are innovative, advanced and practical, and reach the international leading level as a whole, so the Evaluation Committee unanimously allowed it to pass the technical evaluation.
