Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) has officially embarked on the EU-funded Erasmus+ GLOBAL project, following the program’s kick-off meeting held from November 24 to 25 at the University of West Attica in Athens, Greece. The initiative is designed to strengthen the internationalization of higher education by integrating digital transformation, sustainable development, and global governance, further deepening China–Europe academic collaboration.

A Focus on Digitalization and Sustainability

Centered on the internationalization of higher education, the meeting brought together representatives from nine universities and institutions across Greece, Germany, Belgium, and China. CDUT joined the discussions online, with Prof. Li Shan, Dean of the College of International Education (Oxford Brookes College), speaking on behalf of the university.

A Clear Framework for Collaboration

Opening the event, the University of West Attica outlined the project’s goals, structure, and long-term vision. The consortium introduced five major work packages, along with a detailed timeline, task allocation, and expected outcomes. Partner organizations—including Athens Metropolitan College and the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training—presented plans for project branding and communication.

CDUT Highlights Its International Progress

In her remarks, Prof. Li thanked the coordinating institutions, introduced CDUT’s development profile, and outlined its recent achievements in internationalization.

She noted that the university views the project as a major opportunity to improve its global engagement mechanisms, enhance academic mobility between China and Europe, and build stronger research links. CDUT plans to take part in a range of activities, including training programs, exchange visits, and thematic workshops aimed at fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

Looking Ahead: Strengthening CDUT’s Global Footprint

The launch of the GLOBAL project signals the beginning of its full implementation. CDUT will now move forward with its assigned tasks, drawing on its academic strengths and international partnerships. The university aims to contribute actively to building a more inclusive, sustainable, and innovative global education network—bringing a strong “CDUT voice” to the international stage.
