On the afternoon of August 19, entrusted by the United Front Work Department of the Party of Sichuan Provincial Committee and organized by the International Social Service Hong Kong Branch, a delegation of 36 Hong Kong youth visited CDUT to carry out a science education activity themed Tiangong Kaiwu (Exploitation of the Works of Nature.) The event was hosted by the United Front Work Office at CDUT, organized by the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation and the College of International Education, and co-organized by the CDUT branch of the China Zhi Gong Party. Xie Kun, the head of the United Front Work Office at CDUT, leaders of College of International Education, and staff from relevant departments attended the event.

At the commencement of the event, the Hong Kong delegation presented a certificate of appreciation to CDUT in recognition of CDUT’s warm reception and careful arrangements. The gesture reflected both gratitude and the friendship being built between young people from Hong Kong and Chinese mainland, setting a warm tone for the study activity.

Accompanied by volunteers from Oxford Brookes College, the 36 Hong Kong students then toured the Chengdu Natural History Museum (the Museum of Chengdu University of Technology). A banner welcoming the students, which read “Warmly Welcome Hong Kong Youth to CDUT for Tiangong Kaiwu Science Education Activity,” was prominently displayed, listing the host, organizers, and co-organizers of the event.

Led by a guide, the students visited themed exhibition halls on the mysteries of the Earth, the evolution of life, and minerals and gemstones. From massive dinosaur fossils to rare minerals, the precious specimens captured the students’ attention. The immersive experience gave the Hong Kong youth a vivid and profound understanding of Chinese mainland’s rich natural resources and deep accumulation of scientific knowledge, leaving them with lasting impressions of the “natural wonders of China.”
