On the afternoon of July 29, 2025, Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) and Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I.Razzakov (KSTU) held an online cooperation forum. The Kyrgyz delegation was led by KSTU Rector Mr. Mirlan Chynybaev, while CDUT was represented by Vice President and the Standing Committee Member of the Party Mr. Guo Qiang, along with leaders from the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, the College of International Education, and the College of Management Science. The forum was hosted by Ms. Su Yuqiong, Party Secretary of the College of Management Science. Focusing on talent cultivation, scientific research collaboration, and academic exchange, both sides reached a strategic consensus to jointly launch the “Loong Academy” Micro-Major Program, advance dual-degree projects, and establish joint laboratories.
Vice President Guo Qiang highlighted CDUT’s “Double First-Class” disciplinary strengths in geological resources, nuclear technology, environmental sciences, and economics and management, which present strong potential for innovative cooperation with KSTU in areas such as digital economy and green energy. President Chynybaev emphasized KSTU’s robust capabilities in engineering technology and mineral development, and expressed his hope for deeper research collaboration with CDUT.
Three Highlights of the Cooperation:
Dean Lai Bin of the College of Management Science introduced micro-major programs in cross-border e-commerce and digital cultural tourism tailored for Kyrgyz students. These programs will adopt a hybrid model of “online instruction + local interviews (KSTU side) + scholarship-based” study opportunities.
The two universities will co-design graduate programs in digital management, geological engineering, and energy technologies. These programs will feature mutual credit recognition and dual-degree conferral, with diplomas recognized by both the Chinese and Kyrgyz Ministries of Education.
Plans include the creation of joint laboratories in digital management and green building technologies. The KSTU side also invited CDUT representatives to participate in the International Mining Forum scheduled for October 2025. A faculty and student exchange mechanism will be implemented to promote collaborative research and joint publications.
Vice-Rector for International Relations at KSTU, Mr. Sydykov, stated that a dedicated liaison will be appointed to expedite the implementation of the agreement. Both sides agreed to finalize and sign the cooperation agreement within three months and to begin mutual visits in 2026. This dialogue has injected fresh momentum into Belt and Road educational cooperation.
