On the afternoon of October 17, the International Talent Exchange Conference, jointly hosted by the Association of Chengdu Talent Development Promotion, Sichuan University, and CDUT, was successfully held at the Chengdu Talent Service Center. The event attracted over 100 international faculty and students from both Sichuan University and CDUT. Leading the delegation from CDUT were Li Shan, Dean of the College of International Education (Oxford Brookes College), and Hai Chunxi, Deputy Director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation and Vice Dean of the College of International Education (Oxford Brookes College). The conference also saw participation from the International Student Office, Office of Academic Affairs, Office of International Talent Service and Exchange, as well as several international teachers.

At the outset of the event, international faculty and students from both universities engaged in an immersive tour of the exhibition hall. Guided by a narrator, they explored various exhibition areas, gaining insights into Chengdu’s rich history and culture, urban development framework, and its favorable living and business environment. This experience allowed them to deeply appreciate Chengdu’s allure as an international gateway, connecting the world and facilitating global access.

During the conference, staff from the Association of Chengdu Talent Development Promotion delivered a presentation titled “Better Chengdu, Better You,” offering a comprehensive overview of Chengdu’s historical and cultural background, as well as its modern urban industries. They emphasized the city’s talent policies and activities specifically designed for international professionals.

In the sharing segment, Ukwuoma Chiagoziem Chima, an international faculty member from the College of International Education (Oxford Brookes College), shared his personal journey of learning and growing in China. He encouraged attendees to experience firsthand Chengdu’s open and inclusive developmental atmosphere and unique charm. Subsequently, a representative from Sichuan University’s international student body took the stage to share his own experiences studying in Chengdu, recounting his academic life, cultural experiences, and the valuable knowledge and friendships he has forged, conveying a profound affection for the city.
