On October 24th, 2024, Gulzat Isamatova, Vice President of Bishkek State University in Kyrgyzstan, visited CDUT to discuss international cooperation. Lang Xianguo, Director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation and Party Secretary of the College of International Education (CIE), Li Shan, Dean of CIE, and Tang Minggao, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection, accompanied Gulzat in visiting the State Key Laboratory. They engaged in in-depth discussions on scientific research collaboration and student exchange programs between the two institutions. The international exchange yielded significant outcomes.
Deputy Director Tang Minggao provided a detailed introduction to the laboratory’s strategic positioning and objectives, development history and representative achievements, international cooperation, organizational structure, and hardware facilities. He accompanied Gulzat on a tour of the laboratory, explaining the various instruments and equipment. Gulzat showed keen interest in the laboratory’s successful early warnings of geohazards, solutions to key geological issues in major engineering projects, and ecological and environmental protection. She frequently asked questions and exchanged views on the relevant scientific and technological levels and development trends. Simultaneously, she enthusiastically shared the current work in Kyrgyzstan regarding disaster prevention, construction projects, and environmental protection, expressing a strong desire to establish deep cooperation.
Gulzat also had an in-depth communication and exchange with Li Shan on student exchange for summer school cooperation and international student scholarship programs. Li sincerely invited students from Bishkek State University to CDUT for exchange and study visits, marking the beginning of close cooperation between the two universities. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both sides, more international students will benefit from CDUT’s student exchange programs and scholarship policies, contributing to the promotion of international educational exchange and cooperation.
Gulzat gained a comprehensive understanding of CDUT’s scientific research and achievements, laying a solid foundation for subsequent scientific cooperation between the two parties in the fields of geohazard prevention and geological environment protection. This includes joint research projects, sharing of scientific resources and data, talent training, and enhancement of research levels, innovation capabilities, and international influence.
