On the afternoon of April 22nd, the Seminar for Young Diplomats from Sri Lanka, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, came to Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) for an exchange visit. The visiting delegation included N.A.K.L. Wijenayake, Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Public Information of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Mass Media, V. Mahendrarajah, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Finance, as well as officials from the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and other ministries. Accompanying the delegation were four representatives from the Beijing International Chinese College, including Vice President Yang Wei. The discussion meeting was attended by Li Shan, Dean of the International Education College of CDUT, Ma Lei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, relevant personnel from the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, and was chaired by Ma Lei.
Li Shan first reviewed the historical friendship and exchanges between China and Sri Lanka, expressing hope that the group of Seminar for Young Diplomats from Sri Lanka would gain a genuine understanding of Chinese higher education and CDUT through this visit, and promote cooperation in education and technology, deepening mutual friendship. She then introduced the school's development history, discipline construction, and overall training situation for international students.

Subsequently, Yang Wei, Vice President of the Beijing International Chinese College, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the school. He stated that The "Seminar for Young Diplomats from Sri Lanka" is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, aiming to deepen understanding of China's national conditions through diplomacy, further expand cultural exchanges between China and Sri Lanka, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future in the new era.

During the exchange meeting, the seminar participants expressed strong interest in studying in China and Chinese culture, and engaged in enthusiastic discussions on topics such as applications, admission criteria, language of instruction, and university-enterprise cooperation. The head of the Sri Lankan delegation expressed gratitude for the school's hospitality, stating that the visit not only enhanced their understanding of CDUT and fostered friendship but also believed that both sides would continue to maintain good communication and cooperation for mutual development in the future. After the meeting, the Sri Lankan delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection and the School History Museum.
