CDUT and UCM Successfully Hold Online Exchange Meeting

To advance the exchange and cooperation with global universities, thereby boosting its international presence, CDUT, alongside Universidad Complutense de Madrid, has held an online exchange meeting on March 8th. The session convened key figures from both institutions: Juan Carlos Izquierdo, International Publicity Representative and Co-Dean of the Graduate School, Huang Ziyuan, China Project Manager, and Zhang Zhujun, China Project Officer of Universidad Complutense de Madrid. From CDUT, attendees included Li Shan, Deputy Director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, Hua Haiyan, Dean of the Business School, Wu Xu, Vice Dean of the Business School, Liu Yongzhi, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages & Cultures, Guo Fengming, Vice Dean of the College of Foreign Languages & Cultures, Chen Xudong, Vice Dean of the College of Management Science, and Li Haimei, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities and Law. The meeting was presided over by Li Shan.

    Online Meeting

In his remarks, Juan Carlos Izquierdo shone a spotlight on Universidad Complutense de Madrid, extending a warm invitation for reciprocal visits and engagement. He expressed the hope that through the exchange and mutual learning between both parties, and by carrying out teaching and research cooperation, more high-level international talents would be jointly cultivated.

Huang Ziyuan presented the project cooperation with universities in China and the methods of cooperation.

Li Shan outlined CDUT's overview, the status of international exchanges and cooperation, talent training, and scientific research achievements, and proposed suggestions for cooperation between the two institutions. She hoped both sides could jointly carry out joint training and scientific research activities, engage in the exchange of academic materials and publications, teacher-student exchanges, and multiple forms of cultural exchanges.

Wu Xu, Liu Yongzhi, Chen Xudong, and Li Haimei introduced the basics of the Business School, College of Foreign Languages & Cultures, College of Management Science, and School of Humanities and Law, respectively, from the aspects of discipline construction, specialty construction, scientific research, and talent training.

Leadership Addresses

During the meeting, both parties discussed the details of cooperation such as teaching and research cooperation, joint talent cultivation, and teacher-student exchange visits, reaching a preliminary intention to cooperate.

It is known that Universidad Complutense de Madrid is the top-ranked public university in Spain and also the most extensive and comprehensive university in the country in terms of scale and range of disciplines. It enjoys a prime location and boasts a strong faculty. It houses 26 higher education centers, offering 304 officially recognized degrees. Its areas of knowledge include sciences, social sciences and law, health sciences, humanities and arts, and languages, and technological engineering. Furthermore, Universidad Complutense de Madrid has 48 specialized research institutes and colleges, 21 research hospitals and clinics. As a national symbol of Spain, Universidad Complutense de Madrid also plays a leading role in the Alliance of Spanish Universities and has been crucial in Sino-Western international exchanges.
