In order to enlarge international student enrollment and elevate CDUT’s international image, on the afternoon of July 19, the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation participated in the online "Belt and Road Initiative" International Mining Technology Transfer Promotion Conference and held discussions with universities from Central Asia. People who attended the meeting include: Gabdullin Maratbek, Rector of Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) and Academician of KazNANS, Saule Aidarova, Director of KBTU’s Petroleum Engineering Institute "Belt and Road Initiative" and Academician of KazNANS, Mirzaev Abdurazoq Umirzoqovich, Director of the Navoi Section of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (UzAS), Department Head Sharipov Shezoded Fakhrijiovich, Isakhov Aringbasar from the former President's Office of Kazakhstan and Ministry of Culture, Professor Alexander Shemyakov from the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ural branch), Yasir Shaheen Khalil from the Geological Survey of Pakistan, Advisor Chagan Guanbaolde from the Institute of Geography and Geoecology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Deputy General Manager Moldashev Zhandarbek from the digital geological platform E-geoprom in Kazakhstan, Director Ye Xiaowei from the International Cooperation Department of the Strategic Development Research Institute of Science & Technology Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Wang Quanfeng, Associate Director of the College of Mathematics and Physics of CDUT, Chen Qian, Head of the Office of International Student Management at Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, and other relevant personnel.

Chen Qian briefly introduced CDUT and extended a warm invitation to the international guests, encouraging them to explore opportunities for exchanges or to pursue master's and doctoral degrees at CDUT. She expressed that this conference would lay a solid foundation for further joint scientific research and student exchanges.
Wang Quanfeng provided an overview of the College of Mathematics and Physics, including its history, faculty, talent introduction policy, and discipline construction. He also expressed the intention to collaborate on international student education and joint teaching programs.
Gabdullin Maratbek presented the founding history and research areas of KBTU. Established in 2001, KBTU's primary research fields encompass geoinformation technology, petroleum and natural gas, clean energy.
Mirzaev Abdurazoq Umirzoqovich introduced the basic situation of the Navoi Section of UzAS and proposed potential directions for exchange and cooperation.
Alexander Shemyakov mentioned that the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Economics was founded in the late 1960s, with research areas covering energy economics, environmental economics, and others. With a wide range of research fields and an excellent academic team, it undertakes significant tasks in talent cultivation.

During the meeting, participants discussed detailed issues regarding international student education, credit recognition, expert visits, research cooperation, etc., and reached preliminary cooperation intentions.
This meeting is another meaningful practice of CDUT in implementing the "Belt and Road Initiative" Action Plan for CDUT in Geoscience. It carries substantial significance in bolstering CDUT’s brand in overseas studying and contributes to CDUT’s global influence. In the future, CDUT will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with international universities, provide more channels for international students to study in it, improve the quality of education for international students, and build a high-quality, high-level brand in the field of overseas studying.
