The Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, CDUT and the Institute for Advanced Study, Technische Universität Dresden Successfully Held an Online Cooperation Dialogue

In order to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between our university and foreign high-level universities, the CDUT Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation (CDUTDIEC) actively worked with the Technische Universität Dresden Institute of Advanced Study (TUDIAS) and successfully held an online cooperation dialogue on August 12. At the meeting, preliminary cooperation intentions were reached on matters such as international talent cultivation, mutual visits of faculties and students, and scientific research cooperation. The meeting was presided over by Li Shan, deputy director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation. Dr. Fan Xuanmei, head of the Department of International Exchange & Cooperation, and Brian Bjoerndal-Pedersen, dean of Technische Universität Dresden Institute of Advanced Study, delivered speeches respectively. At the same time, in order to strengthen the cooperation with the advantageous disciplines of Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), relevant leaders and responsible persons from the College of Environment and Civil Engineering, College of Nuclear Technology and Automation Engineering, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and College of Computer Science and Cyber Security were invited to attend the meeting. The meeting received active response and support from participating colleges.

Dean Brian first introduced the general situation of TU Dresden and the city where it is located. He put a high hope on the cooperation and sincerely invited teachers and students of our school to visit TU Dresden. Dr. Fan Xuanmei introduced Chengdu University of Technology and its international exchanges and cooperation, and hoped that through exchanges and visits of faculties and students as well as teaching and scientific research cooperation, the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities will be further deepened, and more high-level international professional and technical talents will be jointly cultivated.

Following Dr. Fan's speech, the person in charge of China Affairs of TU Dresden and his team members introduced in detail the undergraduate double degree and combined undergraduate and master programs, faculty-student exchange visits and scientific research cooperation programs. They stressed on German learning, mutual recognition of credits, and the full-process management of international talents cultivation. He conducted in-depth discussions with the leaders of participating schools and responsible persons of different disciplines, and answered their questions in detail.

Through this cooperation dialogue, the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation has built a platform for the relevant colleges to communicate and cooperate with high-level foreign universities, and provided more options for students of related majors in our school for their study abroad, internship and employment. It has also provided faculties with more channels for exchange visits and scientific research cooperation in high-level foreign universities.
