Chengdu University of Technology Held a Symposium with Schlumberger

On the morning of July 12, the Chengdu University of Technology and Schlumberger held a symposium in Conference Room 318 of the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection. Liu Qingyou, Deputy Secretary and President of the Chengdu University of Technology, Ke Ning, Managing Director of Schlumberger North Asia, and Hou Mingcai, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of the Chengdu University of Technology attended the meeting. Heads of relevant units of the two sides attended the meeting. Hou Mingcai presided over the meeting. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on relevant research projects, optimization and enhancement of the application effect of new Schlumberger oilfield technologies, and the direction of further cooperation.

On behalf of the University's Party and Government Office, Liu Qingyou extended a warm welcome to the visit of Ke Ning and his delegation and introduced in detail the University's tremendous strength and research achievements in oilfield technical services. With a wide space and bright prospects for cooperation, he looked forward to deepening practical cooperation in AI, joint talent training, and other aspects in the future to strengthen cooperation, expand cooperation fields and broaden cooperation depth, providing strong support for the building of CDUT into "a world first-class university with first-class disciplines" and the further development of Schlumberger.

With introducing the basic situation of Schlumberger and its strategic plan in southwest China , Ke Ning said that in the future, the company would attract more excellent talents from CDUT as it focuses on the southwest of China . The two sides have great potential for cooperation in digital platforms, new energy fields, and the construction of production, education, and research bases. He hoped that the two sides would further identify the entry points and integration points of cooperation, and fully integrate advantages to deepen practical cooperation and achieve win-win results.

At the meeting, Professor Zhu Haiyan introduced the current research progress and advantages of the energy geological engineering integration team. Moreover, representatives of both sides also signed and unveiled several cooperation agreements on the integrated production, teaching, and research base of energy geological engineering.
