In early April 2026, the Handbook of Industrial Culture, translated by Professor Liu Yongzhi’s team from the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures at Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), was officially selected for the prestigious Springer Nature reference book series and formally published. The book is a major achievement initiated by the Industrial Culture Development Center of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to strengthen the development of China as a nation with a strong industrial culture. The original Chinese edition was authored by Wang Xinzhe, Sun Xing, and Luo Min, while the English edition was translated by Liu Yongzhi, Cheng Yan, and Zhou Yao.
In 2023, the Handbook of Industrial Culture was approved as part of the National Press and Publication Administration’s “Classics of China International Publishing Project.” Its translation and publication represent an important initiative by the MIIT and the National Press and Publication Administration to support China’s national cultural strategy and promote the global dissemination of Chinese scholarship and culture. The book systematically establishes a theoretical framework for industrial culture, tracing the spiritual foundations and practical experience of China’s industrialization process. It fills a long-standing gap in academic research in this field while providing Chinese experience and wisdom for global industrial development. The publication is expected to help international readers gain a deeper understanding of China’s manufacturing sector and industrial spirit, further enhancing China’s international discourse power in industry and culture.
The volume consists of five sections and thirty chapters, covering foundational theories, historical evolution, and other core topics related to industrial culture, and includes numerous real-world case studies from industrial practice in China and abroad. Springer Nature, one of the world’s leading academic publishers, is dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarly works and promoting global knowledge sharing. The inclusion of Handbook of Industrial Culture in its reference book series provides an authoritative international platform for the global dissemination of China’s industrial culture theory and contributes Chinese perspectives to the development of global industrial culture.
