Recently, the Ministry of Education of China officially released the Notice on the Announcement of the Results for the Third Batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses (MOE Document No. 9 [2025]). A total of 13 undergraduate courses from Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) have been recognized as national first-class courses. This achievement represents another significant milestone in the University’s ongoing efforts to deepen educational and teaching reform and to fulfill the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education. To date, CDUT has secured approval for 25 national-level first-class undergraduate courses and 97 provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses. The overall quality of course development has continued to improve steadily, with the number of approved courses ranking among the leading institutions within the province.
As the core of talent cultivation, courses play a decisive role in the effectiveness of knowledge transmission and the development of students’ competencies. Guided by the overarching approach of broadening knowledge horizons, strengthening disciplinary foundations, reinforcing interdisciplinary integration, and empowering digital and intelligent transformation, CDUT has continuously enhanced course development. As a result, it has established a high-quality curriculum system characterized by contemporary relevance, innovation, and industry leadership.
Looking ahead, the University will take this recognition as an opportunity to advance the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent cultivation. By deepening disciplinary strengths, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and further integrating education with scientific research and industry needs, CDUT will continue to promote reform and innovation in curriculum systems, teaching content, and instructional models. The University is committed to developing more “gold-standard” courses that embody advanced level, innovation, and appropriate academic challenge, reflect CDUT’s distinctive strengths, and lay a solid foundation for comprehensively enhancing teaching quality and the effectiveness of talent cultivation.
