CDUT and Shanxi Geological Group Hold Exchange Meeting and Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

 On the afternoon of December 27, Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanxi Geological Group. Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, and Jiang Rong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shanxi Geological Group, attended the signing ceremony.

Jiang Rong extended a warm welcome to President Xu Qiang and his delegation and provided a brief overview of Shanxi Geological Group, including its development history, workforce scale, core business areas, and major achievements. He noted that the two parties could deepen cooperation in areas such as mine ecological restoration, geohazard monitoring and early warning, and deep geological exploration, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productive capacity and achieving mutual benefit.

President Xu Qiang stated that Chengdu University of Technology, as a national “Double First-Class” university with distinctive strengths in geology, energy, and resource sciences, has long focused on frontiers in Earth sciences and major national strategic needs, building strong capabilities in fundamental geology, mineral exploration, and geohazard prevention and mitigation. He expressed the hope that both parties would take the signing of the agreement as a starting point to jointly tackle key technologies, co-cultivate high-caliber interdisciplinary geological professionals, and work together to establish a new model of university–enterprise collaboration.

Following the talks, the two sides formally signed the strategic cooperation agreement. The signing marks the beginning of in-depth collaboration, with both parties leveraging their respective strengths in geological science research, talent cultivation, technological innovation, and the transformation of research results into real-world applications. During the event, President Xu Qiang delivered a keynote academic lecture titled “Digital and Intelligent Empowerment in Landslide Prevention and Control” to nearly 100 professional and technical staff members.

Representatives from Shanxi Geological Group and relevant departments of CDUT attended the event.
