Recently, the list of outstanding cases for the “Model Power: 2025 Education Ceremony”, released by China Education Online (www.eol.cn), was officially announced. Standing out among numerous universities nationwide, Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) was selected as a “2025 ‘Double First-Class’ University for New Media Influence” in recognition of its innovative practices and remarkable achievements in the field of new media. Notably, only two universities in Southwest China—CDUT and Guizhou University—received this distinction. This honor not only affirms the university’s accomplishments in new media development, but also highlights its commitment to exploring innovative communication pathways and enhancing brand influence in the digital era.

This year’s evaluation was based on diverse data sources, including the gaokao.cn and Kaoyan.cn databases, intelligent admissions Q&A systems, and the EOL Smart Media content platform. Massive information from third-party platforms was also incorporated. A panel of authoritative experts conducted a comprehensive assessment using multidimensional big-data models. The review focused on universities’ achievements in new media channel development, digital technology application, and AI-driven innovation, with particular attention to their practical contributions to campus culture, brand building, and communication impact.
In recent years, CDUT has continued to advance its new media initiatives, developing a distinctive and effective communication system. The university’s official WeChat, Weibo, and Douyin accounts operate in close coordination, producing a series of high-quality, creatively designed, and widely influential new media products. Through the innovative use of AI technologies, data visualization, and other digital tools, the university has achieved precise outreach and effective engagement in areas such as admissions communication, campus culture promotion, and academic resource dissemination—demonstrating an advanced standard of new media operation in contemporary higher education.
Looking ahead, the university will take this award as a new starting point to further strengthen its new media matrix. CDUT plans to deepen content innovation, enhance integration of technology and communication, and optimize platform functions and user experience, continuously improving the influence of its new media communication. The university will continue to leverage new media as an important vehicle for moral education, cultural inheritance, and public service—contributing “CDUT wisdom” and “CDUT strength” to its ongoing Double First-Class initiative and to the high-quality development of higher education in China.
