On May 24, the inauguration ceremony and first meeting of the First Academic Committee of the SC-CQ Joint Laboratory of Advanced Eco-Materials with Safety and Energy Efficiency for Civil Engineering was successfully held at the Chongqing Science Hall.
The laboratory is co-led by Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) and Chongqing University, jointly established in partnership with Sichuan University (SCU) and China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd (China Southwest Architecture). Professor Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, and Professor Feng Chi, Associate Dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Chongqing University (CQU), serve as co-directors of the lab. The chair of the Academic Committee is Professor Liu Hanlong from CQU, with Professor Wang Qi from SCU and Chief Engineer Feng Yuan from China Southwest Architecture as vice chairs. Committee members include Professor Wu Shishan (Nanjing University), Professor Feng Yujun (SCU), Professor Pei Xiangjun (Southwest Petroleum University), Professor Wang Qingyuan (SCU), Professor Pan Jingong (CNBM (Chengdu) Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd.), Professor Yuan Yanping (Southwest Jiaotong University), Professor Lin Zhongcai (Jinan University), Dr. Li Jiangshan (Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan), Dr. Zhan Baojian (Shenzhen University), and Professor Liu Rentai (Shandong University).
In addition to the lab directors and academic committee members, other affiliated experts and scholars from SCU, CQU, CDUT, and China Southwest Architecture also participated in the meeting.
Professor Xu Qiang delivered the opening remarks, expressing his gratitude for the support and guidance from all attending leaders and experts, and introduced the lab’s significance and long-term vision. In the presence of all guests, the unveiling ceremony marked the official launch of the joint laboratory. Afterwards, Professor Xu and Professor Feng awarded letters of appointment to each academic committee member.
