He noted that Huawei, as a global technology leader, possesses world-class R&D strength and innovation capabilities. As a "Double-First Class" university, CDUT is dedicated to scientific innovation and talent cultivation. CDUT has distinguished itself with significant achievements in disaster prevention and mitigation, oil and gas resources, and other fields. President Xu expressed hope that this signing ceremony would further deepen the collaboration between academia and industry, promoting the integration of teaching, research, application, and innovation. This collaboration aims to enhance technological innovation capabilities, contribute to the domestic development of high-tech software, and make a greater contribution to the economic and social development of the nation and the region.
Representing Huawei, Guo Hongbin warmly welcomed the delegation led by President Xu. In his speech, he acknowledged that CDUT, as one of the first universities selected for China's "Double-First Class" initiative, has undertaken numerous significant scientific research projects and engineering constructions since its founding in 1956, making substantial contributions to the nation's development. He expressed hope that the signing of this cooperation agreement would mark the beginning of a new chapter of collaboration. Looking ahead, Huawei, in partnership with Chinasoft International, aims to jointly cultivate innovative and practical ICT talents, support multidisciplinary scientific research and high-quality development, and assist CDUT in building a digital campus to achieve higher-quality development.
Yan Guodong stated that after 16 years of industry practice, Chinasoft International has accumulated extensive experience and resources in deep cooperation between schools and enterprises. Ju Nengpan and Zhang Zhihua stepped up to inaugurate the leading-level Huawei ICT Academy.

It is reported that since the signing of a university-enterprise cooperation agreement between CDUT and Huawei at the Shanghai HC Conference on September 20th last year, Huawei, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and CDUT have agreed to seek collaboration in areas including the Huawei-Ministry of Education Intelligent Base 2.0 project, integration of industry and education, convergence of science and education, and digital transformation in education. From October to December, discussions were held with relevant departments such as the College of Computer Science and Network Security. It was decided to focus on talent cultivation, starting with the College of Computer Science as the main collaboration point. The plan is to jointly develop a specialized software college at CDUT, centered around fundamental and embedded software, while also working on the Huawei ICT Academy to co-cultivate innovative ICT talents in fields such as cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
On the morning of the 25th, the CDUT leadership team attended a special exchange and sharing session on Huawei's corporate management culture. Jiao Yunting, a training expert from Huawei University, delivered a keynote speech on "Huawei's Corporate Culture and Core Values." Following the session, Xu Qiang pointed out that Huawei's revered spirit of hard work aligns with CDUT's spirit of “fearless climbing and striving upwards,” as well as CDUT's ethos of "Do not fall behind anyone, and strive to be the first." CDUT plans to draw from Huawei's experience, persist in deepening internal reforms, drive development through innovation, continuously improve the level of education and administration, cultivate top-notch innovative talents, and enhance the capacity of higher education to serve the national strategy and local economic and social development.

The delegation also visited Huawei's Education Exhibit and the Sanya Slope Library for an in-depth learning experience. They then proceeded to Southern University of Science and Technology for research and exchange activities, and celebrated the Tea Party of 2024 Spring Festival with alumni from the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Alumni Association.
