The 21st Western China Overseas Hi-tech and High Talents Conference (OHTC) was held in Chengdu from September 11th to 12th. Liu Qingyou, vice secretary of the Party Committee and president of Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), led a team to attend the OHTC, Xu Qiang, vice president of CDUT, attended the 5th Jiusan Green Development Forum, Zeng Ying, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of CDUT, participated in the live-streamed activity of the 3rd Global Young Scholars Forum, and Zhou Zhongli, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of CDUT, participated in the Yibin Session of the 3rd Global Young Scholars Forum, to contribute to CDUT's introduction of high-level talents.
As part of the efforts to build a platform for young scholars from China and abroad to approach Sichuan, perceive Sichuan and join Sichuan's science and education endeavors, further increase the talent introduction efforts of Sichuan's universities and promote the high-quality connotative development of higher education in Sichuan Province, Liu Qingyou, on behalf of CDUT, together with leaders from nine other Sichuan universities, such as Sichuan Agricultural University and Southwest Petroleum University, launched three initiatives themed "Come to Sichuan for a Bright Future" at the 3rd Global Young Scholars Forum: first, to provide wide opportunities and sincerely invite aspiring young people to choose Sichuan and come to the universities for development; second, to broaden paths of growth to support knowledgeable young people in excelling and standing out; and third, to escort successful young people on their road forward and support them in settling down and making achievements.
As one of the key activities of the 21st OHTC, the 5th Jiusan Green Development Forum, with a theme of "Accelerating the Green Transformation of Traditional Industries in the Yangtze River Basin and Supporting High-Quality Development with High-Quality Eco-Environment", pooled wisdom and gave counsel for the Yangtze River's ecological and environmental protection and the basin's green development. This forum gathered famous experts from national-level research institutes and experts from the Jiusan Society in the 10 provinces and municipalities along the Yangtze River to jointly explore the path for green transformation of traditional industries in the Yangtze River Basin. Xu Qiang participated in the forum, offered advice and suggestions according to his academic expertise and discussed with experts and leaders on site the Yangtze River's ecological and environmental protection and the basin's green development.
During the live-streamed activity of the 3rd Global Young Scholars Forum, Zeng Ying presented CDUT's basic information in detail, promoted positions, such as talents for the Mount Everest Scientific Research Program, permanent full-time instructors and postdoctoral researchers, interacted with young scholars from China and abroad concerning hot topics, such as talent recruitment processes, remuneration packages, assessment and development, and warmly welcomed young talents to join CDUT to contribute to its academic achievements and reach new heights in academia.
The Yibin Session of the 3rd Global Young Scholars Forum was held on the morning of September 12th. With a theme of "Times for the Youth, Innovation for the Future", the session gathered young talents to discuss innovation, contribute to the development and help Yibin accelerate the building of a modern regional central city. Zhou Zhongli participated in the session and promoted CDUT's talent introduction policies, so as to contribute to the high-quality development of CDUT's Yibin campus.
It is learned that the 21st Western China Overseas Hi-tech and High Talents Conference was jointly hosted by the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the People's Government of Sichuan Province, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the Central Committee of Jiusan Society and organized by the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, the United Front Work Department of Sichuan (Sichuan Overseas Chinese Affairs Office) and the Organization Department (Office of Talent Work Leading Group) of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee. Theme "Co-building an Innovation Ecosystem and Sharing the Future of Science and Technology", the OHTC was composed of three main activities and 18 special activities, i.e., 21 key activities in total, to practically support the building of a nationally influential highland for gathering innovative talents and a center for sci-tech innovation and advance the innovative development of Sichuan's practice of Chinese modernization.
