The torch relay is an important official event of the FISU World University Games and plays a significant role in spreading the concept and promoting the spirit of the Games. July 26th is the fifth day of the torch relay of the 2021 Summer World University Games in Chengdu. At 10:15 am on July 26th, the torch arrived at the Chengdu campus of CDUT from the Jiuli campus of Southwest Jiaotong University. The torch relay ceremony was attended by a number of personages such as Fu Ming, Member of the Education Working Committee of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Full-time Deputy Director of the Education Supervision Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Government, and Chief Inspector of the Department, Cheng Jing, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, Colonel Guo Shan, Member of the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Chengdu Garrison, and Deputy Chairman of the 2021 Summer World University Games Executive Committee, Zeng Yi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Chengdu Radio and Television Station, Jiang Maowen, Member of the Party Committee of Chengdu Radio and Television Station, and Deputy Director of the Television Station, Zhang Ruiqin, Member of the Party Group of the 2021 World University Games Executive Committee Organizational Unit, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department (Opening and Closing Ceremony Department) of the Executive Committee, Huang Dong, Full-time Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department (Opening and Closing Ceremony Department) of the 2021 World University Games Executive Committee, He Xiaomei, Senior Supervisor of the Publicity Department (Opening and Closing Ceremony Department) of the 2021 World University Games Executive Committee, Zhao Chungang, Secretary of the Chenghua District Party Committee and Director of the Chenghua Competition Zone Committee, Gong Hao, Secretary of the Party Committee of CDUT, Liu Qingyou, President of CDUT, Hu Bing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Zeng Ying, Ju Nengpan, and Zhou Zhongli, members of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents of CDUT. Chinese martial arts have a long and profound history, representing a precious part of traditional Chinese culture. During the opening performance, students of CDUT presented a splendid martial arts display titled "Carrying Forward the Tradition, Embodying the Spirit of Martial Arts." The performance showcased the power of Southern-style boxing and the strength of knife techniques, demonstrating the unique charm of Chinese martial arts. It also displayed the tenacious fighting spirit and pioneering attitude of students from CDUT, reflecting their indomitable sportsmanship and extending a sincere invitation from China, from Chengdu, to the youth of the world.

After the opening performance, at 10:21 am, Gong Hao announced the start of the torch relay for the 2021 Summer World University Games in Chengdu (at CDUT).

Accompanied by the melody of We Are All Dream Chasers, the theme song of the 2021 World University Games torch relay, Huang Changzhou, the 32nd torchbearer, representing China as an outstanding long jump athlete, and the silver medalist in long jump at the Military World Games and the National Games, held the torch high and began the relay at CDUT.

The "Chengdu Torch" departs from the sports arena and passes through iconic locations such as the intersection of Chenggong Avenue and Triangle Lawn (Youth Sculpture), the Ninth Teaching Building, Yulian Hall, Gingko Apartment, Dongfeng Canal, the National Key Laboratory of Geological Hazard Prevention and Geological Environment Protection, Dove Tree Apartment, the Activity Center for Teachers and Students (under construction), the Comprehensive Experiment Building, the East Campus Library, and the East Campus Teaching Building, covering a total distance of approximately 2.27 kilometers. A total of 31 torchbearers from various professions take turns to relay, holding high the "Chengdu Torch" with steady strides. They smile and wave to the spectators along the way, passing on the spirit of sportsmanship to everyone and igniting the enthusiasm of CDUT for the World University Games.

The torchbearers participating in this torch relay come from various fields, including sports, education, economy, tourism, healthcare, and service industries. Among them are Olympic champions, representatives of outstanding athletes, exemplary teachers, exceptional students, outstanding volunteers, exemplary grassroots governance representatives, outstanding entrepreneurs, and advanced representatives from the frontline healthcare industry. They have earned various honors such as "National Earthquake Relief Role Model," "National Labor Role Model," "National Outstanding Instructor," "National Model Teacher," "Sichuan May Fourth Youth Medalist," "Sichuan Women's March Eighth Red Flag Bearer," and "Chengdu Exemplary Civilization Pioneer," among others. As torchbearers for this relay, representatives of CDUT's outstanding teachers, Wang Yuan and Ma Chao, along with exceptional students Wang Zhengwen and Sun Yuyang, participated in the torch relay.
