May 12, 2021 is the 13th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, which aims to further popularize the knowledge of safety-oriented disaster prevention and relief, as well as to improve both teachers’ and students’ self and mutual saving ability, and ability of emergency and risk aversion. On May 10, Chengdu Longjiang Road Primary School conducted the 2021 evacuation drill of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction with the slogan of “Prevent and resolve disaster risks, enhance the foundation of safety development”.

The 2021 Evacuation Drill of Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction
Before the drill, students studied the requirements and precautions in the classroom. And Mr. Zhao Xu emphasized the evacuation route of each class and the assembling place on the playground. In addition, Mr. Zhao leaded students to review the “Seven No’s”: No laughing, no pushing, no staying, no speeding, no overtaking, no squatting, and no coming back against the flows.

As a sharp alarm sounded, the head teacher and assistant teacher immediately organized the students to take shelter under their desks nearby and protect the heads with their school bags or books, so as to prevent injured from falling objects.

When the evacuation alarm sounded, the issued evacuation instructions came from the radio, teachers of each class immediately guided students to evacuate to the playground in an orderly manner from the front and back doors respectively, and all students, under the guidance of security teachers on the stairs, evacuated seriously, quietly and orderly to maintain a good distance in the evacuation drill. After arriving at the playground, students quickly found their assembling places of their classes and squatted holding heads with both hands, and stayed one meter between each other. After the alarm of the earthquake evacuation drill was officially stopped, everyone stood in accordance with four lines quickly, quietly and orderly.

After the summary of the evacuation drill, Mr. Chang Ming, Associate Professor of SKLGP of CDUT, Master’s Supervisor, and Postdoctoral Fellow of Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a lecture to all the students and teachers about the knowledge about emergency and risk aversion of geological disasters.
Besides, Mr. Chang also explained some knowledge about emergency and risk aversion of geological disasters such as collapse, landslide, and derbies flows, as well as some methods about monitoring and pre-warning of geological disasters. All the teachers and students benefited a lot.
