On 11 May 2021, China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group CO. LTD (hereinafter referred to as CREEC) came to Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) for research and discussion. The meeting was held in Conference Room 318 of the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (SKLGP).Attendees included representatives from CREEC, such as General Manager Hu Sen, Vice General Manager Qin Xiaolin and Liang Chunxiang, Deputy Chief Engineer Jiang Liangwen, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of Technical Center Wei Yongxiang. Liu Qingyou, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CDUT, Ju Nengpan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CDUT were also attend the meeting. Ju Nengpan introduced the foundation and effectiveness of the cooperation between CDUT and CREEC, and the basic situations of SKLGP in terms of the scale of operation, history, target orientation, research direction and management mode.

On behalf of CDUT, Liu Qingyou expressed gratitude to CREEC for its strong support to the development of the university over the years . He noted that as a "double first-class" university, CDUT has always insisted on serving national strategies and local economic and social development needs, practicing the original intention of serving the country through education, and taking up the mission of "Four Services". In order to decipher the geological mysteries of the "Spine of The World", CDUT has launched the "Everest Scientific Research Project" and carried out a series of scientific researches focused on the geological resources and ecological environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its periphery.

He put forward four suggestions for further cooperation between the two sides: Firstly, to build a win-win cooperation model between the university and enterprise, to jointly build a platform for SKLGP, and to include the laboratory as a member of the "Sichuan-Tibet Railway Innovation Centre", so as to promote technical innovation in complex mountain railways. Secondly, to carry out joint research on major scientific and technological problems such as the Sichuan-Tibet Railway; Thirdly, to jointly carry out talent training, cooperate to build a post-doctoral workstation, jointly train professionals in short supply on both sides, making CDUT a training base for high-level talents and a cradle for the growth of leading talents in science and technology in enterprises. Fourthly, to jointly build a base for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, jointly build a geological disaster monitoring and early warning system, and develop and promote geological disaster early identification technology.
Hu Sen said that China is one of the countries in the world with extremely complex and diverse geological landscapes, and CDUT is located on the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, which has a unique location advantage for scientific research and has made an important contribution to supporting the development of major national strategies. He noted that the Sichuan-Tibet Railway is one of the most challenging super projects in human history, and CDUT has given important technical support in its construction. The Sichuan-Tibet Railway Innovation Centre is an incubation platform for scientific research in rail transportation that integrates research and development, transformation and services. It is hoped that both sides can sum up the existing cooperation experience, raise the level of cooperation, and rely on the Sichuan-Tibet Railway Innovation Centre to carry out in-depth practical cooperation in research topics, construction of engineering projects and transformation of scientific research results.

The relevant responsible persons from Geotechnical Engineering Design and Research Institute of CREEC, College of Ecology and Environment, and representatives from Institute of Science and Technology Development, Geological Survey Research Institute, College of GeoSciences, College of Environment and Civil Engineering, College of Tourism and Urban Planning and SKLGP attended the meeting.
