On the morning of May 20, 2021, Key Laboratory of Landslide Hazards Risk Warning and Prevention of Ministry of Emergency Management jointly proposed by State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (SKLGP) and National Institute of Natural Hazards of Ministry of Emergency Management accepted assessment in Conference Room 318 of SKLGP. The meeting was attended by expert group members including Wang Lu, second-level officer of the Science, Technology and Information Division of the Ministry of Emergency Management and Du Yang, cadre of the group. Yang Jun, second-level researcher of the Department of Science and Information Technology of the Department of Emergency Management of Sichuan Province, Wang Hongmei, cadre of the Department of Emergency Management of Sichuan Provinc, Xu Chong, researcher of the National Institute of Natural Hazards of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and Ju Nengpan, Vice President of Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) also attended the meeting.

Ju Nengpan noted that SKLGP has a good foundation in emergency rescue, integrated results and support from the university in terms of working space, research staff, funding and equipment. The purpose of this joint venture is to actively take responsibility and devote themselves to their duties, as well as establish and improve the investigation and assessment system and to promote the laboratory as an influential key laboratory of the Ministry of Emergency Management in the southwest region and even in China.

Zhao Jianjun, Vice Director of SKLGP, reported on the declaration and construction of the proposed laboratory from the background and significance of the construction, the research basis of the laboratory, and the results of emergency management.
It is reported that the Key Laboratory of Landslide Risk Warning and Prevention of the Ministry of Emergency Management is based on CDUT and the National Institute of Natural Hazards of the Ministry of Emergency Management. The completed laboratory will mainly focus on the current situation of landslide hazards in China and their impact on the national economic construction and the safety of people's lives and property and the degree of harm, combined with the latest achievements in the development of today's earth sciences, focusing on research to solve the problem of landslide hazards faced by China, especially in the economic construction and social development of the western region, to establish an efficient and scientific geological and environmental disaster risk prevention and control emergency system to protect economic activities. The study will provide important scientific and technical support for the formation of a harmonious geological environment for human survival and national needs.
Members of the expert group fully affirmed the distinctive research orientation of the key experiments of the Key Laboratory of Landslide Risk Warning and Prevention of the Ministry of Emergency Management and the high fit with disaster prevention and mitigation work, and gave pertinent suggestions on risk identification and risk evaluation system.
After the meeting, the expert group visited SKLGP of our university and had an internal discussion on the declaration of the Key Laboratory of Landslide Risk Warning and Prevention of the Ministry of Emergency Management. It is understood that the final results will be assessed and publicized after the expert group has completed the assessments of all declared affiliations.
