Introduction to the Postdoctoral Research Station of Chengdu University of Technology
Since the establishment of the postdoctoral research station in 1991, Chengdu University of Technology has been engaged in postdoctoral work for more than 30 years. At present, there are six postdoctoral research stations in the fields of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Management Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Nuclear Science and Technology, and one postdoctoral innovation practice base.
As an early unit that established postdoctoral research stations in China, the university attaches great importance to postdoctoral work and has always taken it as an important platform for discipline construction, a significant channel to introduce and cultivate high-level talents, and a major tool to promote interdisciplines and broaden research fields, which has made the postdoctoral research station a key base for scientific research and high-level talent cultivation. In the comprehensive evaluation of national postdoctoral work in 2020, the postdoctoral research stations of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering and Geology of the university were honored with excellent grades, and the postdoctoral research station of Management Science and Engineering was honored with a good grade. Among them, the postdoctoral research station of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering has been awarded excellent grades twice in a row. As of February 2022, the university has recruited more than 330 postdoctoral researchers, including more than 10 foreign postdoctoral researchers, and more than 200 postdoctoral researchers who have finished the work in the station.
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and with the support of the enterprise postdoctoral research stations and mobile postdoctoral stations of other universities, the postdoctoral research station of the university has combined its advantages and characteristics in the construction and development of disciplines, actively explored ways for universities, enterprises and research institutes to jointly cultivate post-doctoral students, and established good cooperative relations with many post-doctoral research stations. It has cooperated with more than 30 postdoctoral research stations in geology, petroleum, energy and other industries, giving full play to the radiation effect of postdoctoral research stations and developing a good condition for guiding outstanding doctors to be innovative and entrepreneurial through the industry-university-research integration.
In order to actively implement the decision and deployment of the state, Sichuan Province and the university on postdoctoral work, the university continues to strengthen the support for postdoctoral work, innovate the management concept, operation mode and service system, vigorously promote the postdoctoral cause, further increase the investment in postdoctoral research station, create a good academic and scientific research environment, and innovation and entrepreneurship platform for postdoctoral researchers, take full advantage of the unique role of the postdoctoral system in the cultivation of high-level innovative young talents, promote the construction of the university's talent team and the development of the postdoctoral undertaking, and develop the postdoctoral research station into an important base for the university to cultivate high-level, high-quality and innovative talents.
