On May 22, the finals of the 5th “Voices of Literature” Dubbing Contest took place at the East Campus Library of Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), under the theme “Voices for the Future, Stories for a New Chapter.” The event attracted wide participation from faculty and students, aiming to inspire a love for classic literary works through the creative format of dubbing. It served as a platform for cultural exchange and expressive innovation, while also enhancing students’ appreciation for the art of language and promoting the diversity of campus culture.

During the finals, 20 teams took the stage one after another. Three teams composed of international students from the College of International Education advanced to the finals and earned notable accolades in the Foreign Language Category, winning the second prize, third prize, and excellence award. The team “Rhythm & Rhyme” dubbed a scene from Frozen, using fluent English and emotionally resonant voices to vividly capture the characters’ emotional dynamics. The team “Bad Luck and Good Luck” presented a segment from Luck, conveying the film’s warmth and humor through natural and expressive intonation. Meanwhile, “Hoosh & Khuz Voice Vibe” dubbed a selection from Cinderella, skillfully interpreting the characters’ personalities and delivering a compelling performance that drew waves of applause from the audience.

Competition Highlights

With their impressive language skills and deep understanding of the chosen works, the international students received enthusiastic praise from both the audience and the judges. In the future, the College of International Education will continue to explore diverse forms of hands-on learning activities, providing more opportunities for students to express themselves, grow their talents, and cultivate a generation of international students who know, appreciate, and love China.
