Sichuan High People’s Court Visits CDUT for Exchange Symposium

On the afternoon of March 19th, Mr. Qin Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Executive Vice President of the Sichuan High People’s Court, and Mr. Lai Bojun, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group, and Executive Vice President of the Sichuan Judges Association, visited CDUT for an exchange symposium. The symposium was held in the Fifth Meeting Room of the Yanhu Conference Hall. Mr. Liu Qingyou, Secretary of CDUTs Party Committee, Mr. Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, Mr. Tang Qingli, head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision stationed at CDUT, Deputy Secretary of CDUTs Party Committee, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission attended the meeting, which was chaired by Mr. Tang Qingli.

Mr. Xu Qiang, on behalf of CDUT, warmly welcomed Mr. Qin Hai and his delegation. He stated that CDUT always adheres to the original mission of educating people for the Party and nurturing talent for the country, upholds the integration of morality and law, actively promotes legal education, and cultivates high-quality legal talent. Additionally, CDUT insists on managing the university according to law, promoting the modernization of governance systems and governance capabilities, and has established the largest and only base in Sichuan Province for promoting integrity culture in higher education institutions, the Yulian Pavilion, which has been named a Role Model School in Sichuan Province with Law-based Governance. He envisioned the symposium as a catalyst to focus on judicial practices, align with the broader context, address core issues, further expand the scope of cooperation with political and legal institutions, and develop interdisciplinary studies. While jointly advancing the cultivation of legal talent, Mr. Xu hoped to foster a pioneering model for interaction and collaboration between judicial bodies and law schools.

Mr. Liu Qingyou expressed his gratitude to the Sichuan High Peoples Court for its long-term support to CDUT. He pointed out that CDUT has a long history and a profound educational background. CDUT has always adhered to national strategies, actively conducted leading scientific and technological research, aimed to cultivate high-quality talent, and actively served the national economic and social development. He stated that CDUT should proactively leverage its own advantages, strengthen resource sharing between the two sides, and carry out all-round and wide-ranging cooperation, while jointly promoting the connotative development of high-quality disciplines. By deepening cooperation with the Sichuan High Peoples Court, CDUT should jointly develop a mechanism for nurturing high-quality legal talent and establish platforms for theoretical research and case studies. He also called for collaboration on the Constitution and Laws into Universities activity, jointly conducting characteristic legal education activities, and fostering the culture of rule by law on campus.

Mr. Qin Hai expressed his gratitude for the long-term support of CDUT in talent cultivation and theoretical guidance and expressed expectations for further deepening cooperation between the two sides. He stated that CDUT is a Double First-Class university, adhering to the principle of quality-based schooling, distinctive characteristics, and talent-driven development, and has trained a large number of outstanding talent for society. He hoped to intensify collaboration between judicial bodies and academic institutions, capitalizing on each entity’s unique resources. Through leveraging the partnership platform of law and academia, the proposed initiative seeks to integrate superior court resources into university curricula, while employing the academic prowess of universities to enhance judicial practice. This endeavor strives to forge a close, enduring, and robust partnership, elevating the standards of legal education, research, and judiciary proceedings alike.
