Zhou Xinhuai, an Alumnus of the University in Grade 1996, Was Appointed as Deputy General Manager and Member of the Party Group of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)
According to the website of CNOOC, Zhou Xinhuai, an alumnus of the Grade 1996 master's student of our university, is recently appointed as deputy general manager and member of the Party group of CNOOC.
Since he joined CNOOC in 1996, Zhou Xinhuai has worked diligently with great contributions to the national petroleum industry. He was designated to explore and develop the 230-million-ton Qinhuangdao 35-2 high-yield oilfield group. From 2000 to 2010, he led a team to explore 34 oil and gas fields in the Bohai Sea, resulting in nearly 700 million tons of recoverable oil reserves. On December 19, 2010, CNOOC achieved 50 million tons of oil and gas equivalent production, in which Bohai Oilfield accounted for 60%. Zhou Xinhuai is a well-deserved hero for such great feat.

Zhou Xinhuai, born in December 1970 in Yifeng, Jiangxi Province, is a professor-level senior engineer. He received a master's degree in coal field, oil and gas geology and exploration from Chengdu University of Technology in 1996. He has won honors and awards such as the Tianjin May 1st Labor Medal, the National May 1st Labor Medal, and the 11th China Geological Youth Science and Technology Golden Hammer Award. From March 2017 to October 2019, he served as Chief Geologist of CNOOC East Sea Petroleum Administration Bureau (CNOOC (China) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch). From October 2019 to March 2021, he served as General Manager of the Exploration Department of CNOOC. In March 2021, he was appointed as General Manager and Secretary of the Party Committee of CNOOC (China) Co., Ltd. Hainan Branch, President and General Manager of CNOOC Hainan Energy Co., Ltd., Secretary (Head) of CPC CNOOC Hainan Regional Working Committee (CNOOC Hainan Regional Coordination Leading Group), and Deputy Secretary (Deputy Head) of the CPC CNOOC Western South China Sea Working Committee (CNOOC Western South China Sea Coordination Leading Group). In March 2022, he was appointed as a member of the Party Organization and Deputy General Manager of CNOOC.
