President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia Leads Delegation to Visit CDUT

On March 4, Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan (T. C. Goh), President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong), led a 19-member delegation to visit Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT). The event was attended by Hu Bing, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee; Yang Bangqiong, Standing Committee Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Sichuan Committee of Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Full-time Deputy Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party; and Pang Wenzhong, Party Secretary and President of the Chengdu Returned Overseas Chinese Federation. The symposium was presided over by Xie Kun, a member of the University Party Committee and Head of the United Front Work Office.

Hu Bing Delivering Speech

Hu Bing warmly welcomed the delegation. He underscored that as a “Double First-Class” university, CDUT has always attached great importance to international exchange and cooperation. The university has established collaborations with several renowned Malaysian universities, independent Chinese schools, and the United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation between CDUT, the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia, the China Zhi Gong Party, and the Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, bringing together overseas Chinese wisdom to contribute to the inheritance and promotion of Chinese culture.

Tan Sri T. C. Goh expressed his gratitude for the university’s warm reception. He introduced the efforts of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia in promoting cultural exchange between China and Malaysia and fostering economic and trade cooperation. He emphasized that Huazong has always been a guardian of Chinese culture and a bridge for Sino-Malaysia friendship. He looked forward to collaborating with the university through joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and other initiatives to achieve resource sharing and collaborative innovation.

Yang Bangqiong Delivering Speech

Yang Bangqiong highly praised the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia for its role in enhancing Sino-Malaysia friendship and promoting cooperation in overseas Chinese affairs, trade, culture, and tourism. She expressed hope that Huazong would continue to serve as a bridge, creating more platforms for collaboration between Sichuan and Malaysia, particularly in higher education and scientific research. She emphasized the potential for deeper engagement and innovation in these fields to drive the development of both sides.

Signing of Cooperation Agreement

During the meeting, representatives from the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation and the College of International Education introduced the universitys academic programs, research achievements, and community service initiatives. They highlighted the institutions progress in internationalized education, overseas school-enterprise collaborations, and international summer schools.

A cooperation agreement on educational and research collaboration between the university and enterprises was signed by representatives from the College of International Education (Oxford Brookes College), the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia, and Zhongguang Tongyuan (Sichuan) Cultural Exchange Co., Ltd.

Visit to Chengdu University of Technology Museum

Before the meeting, Tan Sri T. C. Goh and his delegation visited the Museum of Chengdu University of Technology.

The trip was attended by representatives from the Sichuan Provincial and Chengdu Municipal Committees of the China Zhi Gong Party, the Chengdu Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, the Overseas Chinese Federation of Chenghua District, the CDUT Party Committees United Front Work Office, the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, the College of International Education (Oxford Brookes College), the CDUT Branch of the China Zhi Gong Party, and the universitys Returned Overseas Chinese Federation.
