On June 17, 2026, Clarivate released the latest edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The English-language journal Ore and Energy Resource Geology (OERG), jointly hosted by Chengdu University of Technology and Elsevier and published by Elsevier, was officially indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) and obtained its first Impact Factor (IF) of 1.0.

According to the latest JCR data, Ore and Energy Resource Geology is ranked in Q3 within the Geology category. This marks an important milestone in the journal’s development and further recognizes its academic quality and international influence.

Founded in 2019, Ore and Energy Resource Geology is a scholarly English journal in the field of mineral and energy resource geology. It publishes high-quality original research articles, review papers, and timely commentaries, focusing on mineral resources, energy resources, and related geological processes. In August 2022, Chengdu University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement with Elsevier. The journal is jointly sponsored by Elsevier and Chengdu University of Technology, affiliated with the university, while Elsevier is responsible for publication and distribution. Professor Hou Mingcai of Chengdu University of Technology serves as Chair of the Editorial Board, while Professor Ryan Mathur of Juniata College (USA) and Professor Zou Hao of Chengdu University of Technology serve as Editors-in-Chief.
Since Chengdu University of Technology’s deep involvement in journal development in 2022, Ore and Energy Resource Geology has shown steady progress. Both submission volume and publication output have continued to grow, with increasing academic activity and visibility.

The journal’s inclusion in ESCI and its acquisition of its first Impact Factor represent a significant milestone in its development. Looking ahead, the journal will continue to uphold a high-quality publishing standard, improve manuscript quality and international visibility, and promote the dissemination of high-level research achievements in mineral and energy resource geology.
