On the morning of January 25, President Xu Qiang led a delegation from Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) to Daqing Oilfield for a research visit and exchange. The delegation visited the Wang Jinxi Memorial Hall and held a symposium. Wen Huaguo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC CDUT Committee and Vice President, accompanied the visit. Bai Xuefeng, Deputy General Manager and Chief Geologist of Daqing Oilfield, attended and chaired the meeting.

Xu Qiang expressed sincere appreciation for the warm reception from Daqing Oilfield. He highly commended the enduring spirit of Daqing and the “Iron Man” spirit embodied by Wang Jinxi, noting their strong alignment with values of perseverance and dedication, which remain highly relevant today. He emphasized that both sides have major opportunities to deepen cooperation—particularly as Daqing Oilfield has established a branch institute in Chengdu near the University, providing a strategic and geographical advantage for collaboration. He expressed hope for the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement to elevate the partnership and invited Daqing Oilfield leadership to visit Sichuan and participate in CDUT’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

Bai Xuefeng welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude for CDUT’s long-standing support for Daqing Oilfield. He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation fields, enriching collaboration content, and establishing flexible partnership mechanisms. He also proposed exploring shared research platforms and laboratory resources, promoting the practical application of research results in oilfield operations, and jointly cultivating major achievements supported by real-world practice to advance both parties’ development.

During the meeting, representatives from the State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation introduced the University’s research capabilities, while officials from Daqing Oilfield’s Science and Technology Information Department presented updates on the company’s innovation initiatives.
