A String of Triumphs: CDUT students Clinch Multiple National Awards in Academic Competitions

From July 21 to 22, CDUT hosted the Southwest Regional Semifinal of the 8th National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition (Chip Application Track). From August 10 to 13, the national finals of the same competition (Application Track) were held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. CDUT students delivered impressive results, winning 2 national first prizes, 1 national second prize, and 14 national third prizes.

On August 21, the TI Cup National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest, jointly organized by the Department of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education and the Personnel and Training Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, concluded at Dalian University of Technology. Competing against 507 teams from nearly 200 universities nationwide, CDUT students earned 1 national first prize and 2 national second prizes. This marked our first national first prize in 26 years, setting a new record for both the quality and number of awards.

From August 6 to 10, the National Finals of the 2025 National Undergraduate Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition were held across three venues in Dalian: Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Jiaotong University, and Dalian Polytechnic University. Nearly 5,000 students from 1,135 teams representing 417 universities, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, took part. The CDUT team stood out, securing 1 national grand prize and 2 national first prizes, the best performance in our history at this competition.

On July 14, the national finals of the 12th Datang Cup National College Students New-Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition concluded. The event drew tens of thousands of participants from hundreds of universities across more than 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, making it the largest edition to date. CDUT teams achieved outstanding results, winning 5 national first prizes, 1 national second prize, and 1 national third prize. Both the scale of achievements and the level of excellence surpassed previous years, showcasing our success in cultivating top-tier ICT talent.

On August 1, the 2025 National Finals of the 2025 National Undergraduate Surveying Discipline Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intelligent Competition, organized by the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, wrapped up successfully. Nearly 6,000 teams from close to 400 universities nationwide participated, making it the largest and most influential edition yet. With strong technical knowledge and superb practical skills, CDUT teams excelled, winning 16 grand prizes, 14 first prizes, and 6 second prizes.

By embedding competition standards into its curriculum, leveraging undergraduate teaching laboratories, and developing independent experimental projects, CDUT continues to foster students innovative thinking and hands-on abilities. These efforts not only enrich our Double First-Class development but also drive forward the cultivation of high-quality talents.
