The First National Symposium on Radiation Detection and Analytical Instrumentation convened in Chengdu on August 16. Jointly hosted by CDUT and the Applied Nuclear Techniques in Geosciences Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province, and co-organized by the China Nuclear Instrumentation Association (CNIA), the Sichuan Nuclear Society, the Shaanxi Nuclear Society, and the Radiation Physics Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society. The event brought together more than 350 experts and scholars from across China. Among the attendees was Deng Jianjun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). The Symposium provides a platform to exchange insights on recent advances, technological innovations, and industry-academia collaboration in the field of radiation detection and analytical instrumentation.

The Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony, Professor Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, extended a warm welcome to participants. Also addressing the event were Liu Ping, Vice President of China Nuclear Instrumentation Association (CNIA), and Yang Jiaojiao, Level 1 Division Rank Official, Director of the Department of Basic Research at the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology. The session was chaired by Professor Zeng Guoqiang, Vice President of CDUT and Chair of the Symposium.
In his speech, Xu Qiang extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks on behalf of CDUT to the attending academicians, experts, and guests. He noted that global scientific and technological innovation is entering a period of acceleration, and independent innovation in high-end scientific instrumentation has become one of the key indicators of a country’s scientific and technological strength.
