In response to China’s strategic initiatives on artificial intelligence (AI) and to accelerate the deep integration of AI and higher education, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education launched a selection process for exemplary application cases in the field of “AI + Higher Education.” Following recommendations from universities and expert evaluation, Chengdu University of Technology’s project “Wenqu Academy: AI-Powered Personalized Training for Innovative Talent in Geosciences” was selected as one of the first exemplary cases in Sichuan Province.

This semester, Wenqu Academy has continued to enhance its AI capabilities, launching several new features and platforms: intelligent course summarization, a digital-teacher microlecture production platform, an AI-powered course development platform, and an educational AI agent development platform. These tools represent innovative teaching models driven by AI, injecting new momentum into teaching and learning for both faculty and students. The intelligent course summarization tool leverages large language models to analyze teaching content from recorded lectures, extract key knowledge points, and help students focus their review on essential topics. The digital-teacher microlecture platform provides instructors with free personalized avatars and voice cloning services with over 90% fidelity. After a brief data collection session, the avatar can be trained in just one hour. By simply uploading a course PowerPoint, instructors can quickly generate microlectures or bilingual lessons—significantly saving time and production costs. Meanwhile, the AI course development and AI agent platforms support the university’s ongoing efforts in curriculum innovation and the creation of smart teaching tools.

Looking ahead, the university will continue to explore and expand the integration of “AI + Higher Education,” accelerating digital transformation in education.
