Children’s Popular Science Book, Join Me on a Fantastic Journey Through Nuclear Science, Created by CDUT Nuclear Science and Technology Teaching Team, Debuts at the Nuclear Industry China 2024

Recently, at the Nuclear Industry China 2024 in Beijing, a dedicated unveiling event took place for the children's science book, Join Me on a Fantastic Journey Through Nuclear Science, crafted by CDUT's teaching team including Associate Professor Li Fei and Professor Ge Liangquan. The event, hosted by Gao Keli, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Nuclear Society, featured an introduction by Yu Junchong, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and well wishes from Hao Zhaobin, Chairman of the China Atomic Energy Press (CAEP). Professor Ge Liangquan also shared insights into the book's creative vision and inception. Notable attendees included Shi Boxuan, Deputy Director of the China Institute of Radiation Protection; Yang Laisheng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Sichuan Nuclear Society; Zeng Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Nuclear Technology and Automation Engineering at CDUT; Zhao Hui, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Science and Technology Press (Science Popularization Publishing House); and Wang Peng, President of CAEP.

Join Me on a Fantastic Journey Through Nuclear Science is a collaborative effort between China Science and Technology Press and CAEP. It is crafted by Professor Ge Liangquan, Associate Professor Li Fei, research fellow Yang Laisheng from Nuclear Power Institute of China, and research fellow Niu Yujian from China Institute of Radiation Protection, along with contributions from experts from over ten units including Sichuan Nuclear Research Institute, Fudan University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Normal University, and China Aero Geophysical Survey and Remote Sensing Center for Land and Resources (AGRS). This book is tailored to introduce young readers to the realm of nuclear science through captivating storytelling and engaging visuals.

Join Me on a Fantastic Journey Through Nuclear Science delves into the world of nuclear science through the eyes of toddlers, chronicling the thrilling adventures of two pandas embarking on an extraordinary journey propelled by a magical cube. Throughout their odyssey, various real-life scenarios related to nuclear technology applications are vividly depicted, including radiation sterilization, irradiation breeding, medical diagnostics, nuclear power generation, archaeological applications of nuclear technology, and the development of China's nuclear industry. Infused with elements of Sichuan's local culture in character selection and narrative construction, the book introduces a new, visually captivating IP that sparks curiosity and fosters a deeper understanding of nuclear science among young readers.

Join Me on a Fantastic Journey Through Nuclear Science

Nuclear Industry China stands as the preeminent international professional exposition in China's nuclear industry, renowned for its longevity, scale, influence, and prestige. Having successfully convened sixteen sessions since the 1980s, the latest exhibition took place from March 19th to 22nd at the Beijing Exhibition Center, spanning over 16,000 square meters and attracting participation from over 110 prominent domestic and foreign enterprises, including China National Nuclear Corporation, China General Nuclear Power Corporation, State Power Investment Corporation Limited, China Huaneng Group Corporation Limited, Westinghouse Electric Company, Framatome, Electricite de France (EDF), Commissariat à L'énergie Atomique et aux énergies Alternatives (CEA), Orano, Industrie nucléaire en France (GIFEN), and Rosatom. The event drew over ten thousand visitors from more than ten countries.
