On November 16th, the opening ceremony of the 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Sichuan) was held in Chengdu. Among the attendees were 11 CDUT representatives, including Li Shan, Deputy Director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation, Tang Xiaolu, Researcher from the College of Ecology and Environment, and Professor Dai Keren from the College of Earth Sciences. During the opening ceremony, CDUT, along with four other Sichuan-based industry-education integration and science-education innovation consortiums, unveiled their plaque. Accompanying participants included Dong Yi, chief of General Affairs Section, and Fan He, clerk of Foreign Affairs Section.

To further accelerate and expand international openness in education, the Ministry of Education initiated the International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application in 2018. Themed on "Diversified Cooperation and Greater Openness for Win-Win Results", the 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Sichuan) was organized by the National Center for Schooling Development Program, sponsored by Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, and hosted by Southwest Petroleum University.

During the opening ceremony, Cai Guangjie, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, Chen Xuehua, member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Pedro A. Valdes-Sosa, Cuban Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology, member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, and recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, attended and delivered speeches. Their presence aimed to promote the establishment of a new platform for integrated development in industry, academia, research, and application, fostering the exchange of experiences in the integrated development of education, technology, and talent. Additionally, a plaque unveiling ceremony was held for five industry-education integration and science-education innovation consortiums in Sichuan.

These five innovation consortiums, tailored to the development needs of Sichuan's advantageous industrial chains, were jointly formed by key enterprises, universities, and research institutes. They include the Green Livestock and Poultry Breeding Innovation Consortium (Sichuan Agricultural University), Earthquake and Geological Disaster Early Warning and Prediction Large Model Education-Industry-Research Integration Innovation Consortium (Chengdu University of Technology), the Laos Inspection and Certification Center (Southwest Jiaotong University), Tongwei Solar Energy (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.'s Photovoltaic New Energy Innovation Consortium (Southwest Petroleum University), and Changhong Joint Innovation Center (University of Electronic Science and Technology).

It is reported that Sichuan is accelerating collaboration with foreign industrial, academic, and research institutions to promote technological innovation. Focusing on key industries and scientific issues related to societal well-being, joint research efforts have been carried out. Over the past three years, more than 200 international science and technology cooperation projects have been implemented, leading to significant breakthroughs in various fields such as neuroscience, life science, materials science, biodiversity conservation, and structural geology. Two joint laboratories for the "Belt and Road" Initiative have been established, along with 90 international science and technology cooperation bases and 61 talent introduction bases. These efforts have created diverse international platforms for scientific and technological cooperation.

These efforts have not only facilitated multi-disciplinary collaboration but also enhanced scientific innovation and economic development, bringing positive influence on society. CDUT looks forward to future collaboration opportunities and further exchanges to promote multi-disciplinary cooperation, innovation, showcase research achievements, and share experiences.
