A Breakthrough! CDUT Wins the National Gold Award of the "Challenge Cup" for the First Time!
The results of the 13th "Challenge Cup" Chinese College Students Entrepreneurship Competition ("Competition") were announced on the evening of March 19th. The “Aotu Conditioner” project incubated by some students and teachers of Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) won the National Gold Award after fierce contests, which is CDUT's first time in the national finals of the Competition and Sichuan Province's only gold award in the rural revitalization and agriculture and rural area modernization category of the Competition!

The Finals and Closing Ceremony of the 13th "Challenge Cup" Chinese College Students Entrepreneurship Competition were grandly held at Beijing Institute of Technology on March 19th at 19:00. The Competition was jointly hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, the All-China Students' Federation and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. The Closing Ceremony was attended by leaders including Fu Zhenbang, secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of CYLC.
Implementing the new philosophy of innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development, the Competition was divided into five categories including scientific and technological innovation and future industries, rural revitalization and agriculture and rural area modernization, social governance and public services, ecological environment protection and sustainable development, and cultural creativity and regional cooperation.
Since its launch in April 2022, the Competition attracted the participation of 1.424 million students from 3,011 colleges and universities, with more than 330,000 innovation and entrepreneurship projects submitted cumulatively and 463 projects finalized for the final review and defense in the national finals. In the rural revitalization and agriculture and rural area modernization category, 92 projects were finalized in the national finals, with 25 gold awards presented. During the period of the Competition, CYLC organizations at different levels launched more than 7,300 activities such as practice online, youth learning fair, workplace experience camp and mentor parlor, and nearly one million students from 256,000 teams went to 2,613 counties (cities, districts and banners) to conduct colorful social practice activities.
CDUT's Party committee and administration paid high attention to the Competition, CDUT's CYLC committee conducted careful organization and full preparations, and the Office of Academic Affairs, College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Graduate School and College of Ecology and Environment offered strong support.
CDUT started the preparation work for the "Challenge Cup" Chinese College Students Entrepreneurship Competition in January 2022. CDUT's CYLC committee actively innovated the working method and worked with relevant departments and colleges to organize, online and offline, project selection, cultivation, incubation and transformation level by level from college competition, university competition, and provincial competition to national competition. The committee promoted learning, teaching and innovation through competition, invited experts in related fields to conduct dozens of sessions of special counseling and project diagnosis, such as text polishing, scheme optimization, defense counseling, simulated questioning and psychological counseling, and created a strong innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere in the university, which provided a strong guarantee and multiple support for the "Aotu Conditioner" project to win the gold award.
