One More! Chengdu University of Technology Receives Approval to Establish Another Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences in Sichuan Higher Education Institutions

February 9th, 2023 /China.com.cn/ -- According to the Notice on the Establishment of Key Research Bases of Humanities and Social Sciences in Sichuan Higher Education Institutions in 2022 recently issued by the Education Department of Sichuan Province, the application of the "Research Center for Policies on the Conservation of Key Ecological Function Areas in the Upper Reaches of Yangtze River" led by Professor Li Zhigang from Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) has been approved for establishment. With this, the number of key research bases of humanities and social sciences in Sichuan higher education institutions built in reliance on CDUT has increased to seven. Such bases will provide strong support for CDUT's active integration into national strategies and serving local economic and social development in the future.

It is understood that CDUT has been thoroughly implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, actively integrating into national strategies and serving local economic and social development in recent years. In the early application of the "Research Center for Policies on the Conservation of Key Ecological Function Areas in the Upper Reaches of Yangtze River", CUDT brought into full play the advantages of majors in disciplines such as economics and management, environment and ecology, actively integrated the research and platform resources of the College of Management Science, the College of Ecology and Environment, the College of Earth Sciences, the College of Tourism and Urban-Rural Planning and the College of Industrial Technology, defined the research objectives and directions and organized expert argumentation, which led to the approval to establish the center into a key research base of humanities and social sciences in Sichuan higher education institutions in 2022.
