In the morning of May 14,2021, the Seismic Simulation Shaking Table System Acceptance Meeting was held in Conference Room 318 of the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (hereinafter referred to as SKLGP) of the Chengdu University of Technology(CDUT). The acceptance panel, led by Shen Yusheng, professor of Southwest Jiaotong University, was comprised of Pan Fei, senior engineer of China Merchants Chongqing Communications Technology Research & Design Institute Co.Ltd, Du Jianyong, researcher of Nuclear Power Institute of China, Assistant Dean Chen Zhenlin and Professor Shen Junhui of College of Environment & Civil Engineering of CDUT. This meeting was hosted by Zhao Jianjun, vice director of SKLGP.
Xu Qiang, vice president of CDUT, deputy executive director of SKLGP, introduced the construction history of the seismic simulation shaking table system. He expressed his gratitude to the evaluation experts, various departments of CDUT and the equipment supplier- BBK Test Systems for their long-term support and understanding to build this large scientific research instruments. He also hoped that all parties would uphold the principle of openness and sharing and keep supporting and helping the SKLGP in terms of technology and management.
At the meeting, members of the expert panel determined the basic principles of evaluation, listened to the project report made by BBK Test Systems and visited the Seismic Simulation Shaking Table laboratory. After the question-answer session between the experts and suppliers, the experts present confirmed with great deliberation that the supply equipment, technical data and supporting equipment of the seismic simulation shaking table system were consistent with the contract requirements. According to the testing result of seismic simulation shaking table, the performance indicators of the seismic simulation shaking table met the contract requirements. So the expert panel unanimously reached an agreement that the seismic simulation shaking table system received the acceptance.
It is reported that the seismic simulation shaking table system is one of the important testing equipments in the earthquake engineering research. This system is a high-tech integrated system engineering combining civil engineering, machinery, hydraulics, electronics, computing technology and control technology. It is also the most intuitive and effective physical simulation of earthquake and shaking.
The completed seismic simulation shaking table system will provide powerful testing technology support for scientific researches and engineering practice in the field of earthquake-induced geohazard prevention and control of SKLGP. This system can also boost the development of related disciplines and professions and greatly improve the quality of high-level talent cultivating. What’s more, the system can be applied to the seismic tests in civil engineering, road and bridge construction, water conservancy engineering and electromechanical device and other related fields.
Attendees of this acceptance meeting included the State-Owned Asset Management Department, the Financial Department, the Basic Construction Department of CDUT, the SKLGP and some staff from BBK Test Systems Co.Ltd.
