Profile: Liu Xingshi, professor of geology, researcher of Prehistoric Archaeology, and researcher of Paleoecology and environics of fruit trees. At the same time, he is a famous writer of the Science Popularization, Science Fiction, and children's literature. He is also the honorary director of China Science Writers Association and Sichuan Science Writers Association, consultant of World Chinese Science Fiction Association, senior consultant of Chengdu University of Technology concerning discipline construction, and director of Sichuan Writers Association. Most importantly, he is the first vice president of China Geological Writers Association, a member of the Art Science Committee of China Science Writers Association, vice chairman of Sichuan Science Writers Association. He began to write books about popular science in 1952. And he published more than 2,000 works of science popularization, science fiction and children's literature since 1952. Besides, he has published more than 400 books and won more than 200 awards in China and abroad.

On the afternoon of May 23, Liu Xingshi, a famous science popularization writer, gave an opening lecture of the series of "National Science and Technology Week in 2021" in the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (hereinafter referred to as SKLGP) of the Chengdu University of Technology(CDUT) with the title of "Three Thousand Years of Prehistory". The lecture was held in the academic lecture hall of the SKLGP, which was presided by Ms Fan Xuanmei, deputy director of the SKLGP.
From the perspective of natural science, Liu Xingshi narrated the interaction of various natural factors in the process of climate change in China and the world taking 2,500 years as a stage, and indicated that the environment can be better protected by protecting arable land. As a researcher and a student who is determined to search the path of scientific research, he said we must conduct researches with justice and integrity at any time. "It is the tradition of our geologists to stand up when it is time to stand up and to make sure to stick to the end." He said .
