Enrollment Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship — High-level Postgraduate Program at Chengdu University of Technology for 2026-2027 Academic Year

     The Chinese Government Scholarship — High-level Postgraduate Program is a full scholarship program sponsored by the Ministry of Education to finance talented young international students to pursue postgraduate degrees at scholarship institutions with enrollment qualifications in China.

I. Program Overview

1. Category of scholarship: postgraduate and doctoral students only.

2. Language of instruction: Chinese and English.

3. Duration: In principle, the program is consistent with the duration of study as specified in the letter of admission.

4. Majors: See Annex 1 for details (subject to the final approval of the Ministry of Education and the letter of admission).

5. Coverage: Tuition, living stipend, comprehensive medical insurance premium, and on-campus accommodation throughout the normal length of schooling.

II. Application Period and Accepting Institution

1. Application period: From now on to March 1, 2026 (It is recommended to apply as early as possible)

2. Accepting institution: Chengdu University of Technology (code: 10616)

3. Program type: B

III. Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants must be citizens of a country other than China with good physical and mental health and valid foreign ordinary passports.

2. Education and age requirements:

(1) Those who apply for masters degree programs in China shall hold a bachelors degree or equivalent, excel in academic performance, and shall be generally under the age of 35;

(2) Those who apply for doctoral degree programs in China shall hold a masters degree or equivalent, excel in academic performance, and shall be generally under the age of 40.

3. Language proficiency:

Applicants for masters or doctoral degree programs with both Chinese and English as the language of instruction are not required to provide any proof of English proficiency for native English speakers; applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide IELTS (6.0 or above) or TOEFL (80 or above) or equivalent certificate. In principle, applicants who apply Chinese-taught program shall demonstrate Chinese proficiency at HSK Level 4 or higher.

4. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of Chengdu University of Technology in terms of academic excellence and other relevant conditions.

Note: Applicants shall complete their applications on the above two websites by March 1, 2026.

V. Application Materials and Procedures

(I) Please refer to Annex 2 for application materials.

(II) Application procedures

1. Apply on the CSC system: Log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn), select the type of study abroad program (Type B), enter the code: 10616 (Chengdu University of Technology), fill in the information and submit online, and download the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.

Note: Please see Annex 3 for the instructions.

2. Apply on the enrollment system of CDUT (very important): Upon completion of application on the CSC website, applicants must submit an application in the CDUT's application system (https://cdut.at0086.cn/student). Please keep all the relevant materials identical to those in the CSC system (Note: Failure to do so will result in our inability to process your application).

3. Preliminary qualification: CDUT will preliminarily examine the qualification of applicants in accordance with the enrollment requirements, and request the training colleges to review those eligible for preliminary qualification.

4. University review: Before March 8, 2026, CDUTs training colleges will organize expert reviews to assess the applicants academic excellence, language proficiency, educational background, and development potential through the interview or written test.

5. Issue of pre-admission letters: CDUT will issue pre-admission letters on the basis of merit among the applicants who pass the Universitys review. Applicants eligible for pre-admission letters must log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn) again before March 15, 2026 to submit pre-admission letters and other required materials.

VI. Miscellaneous

1. Chengdu University of Technology will send the pre-admission letters by email before March 13, 2026. Failure to receive the pre-admission letters will be deemed as failure to be eligible. The final admission results will be announced in June or July 2026. Please be patient.

2. Applicants must ensure the authenticity of their application materials. If any materials are found to be untrue, the applicant will be disqualified.

3. Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to receive other scholarships set up by local governments and domestic universities at the same time (excluding one-time awards). Once found, their eligibility will be cancelled, and the Chinese Government Scholarship granted must be returned. Those who deliberately conceal their funding information will not be allowed to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship within three years, including disqualification.

4. Applicants will be interviewed by phone or online. Please ensure that the phone number and email address in the application form are correct.

5. All applications must be submitted online. E-mail or paper applications are not accepted.

6. Please make sure to provide the correct e-mail address and mailing address. We will confirm each important information via email. Be sure to check it daily.

7. Chengdu University of Technology does not allow any individual or intermediary agency to accept Chinese Government Scholarship applications. All applicants shall submit relevant information on the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn) and the official website of CDUT (https://cdut.at0086.cn/student).
