CDUT 2025 China Government Scholarship Independent Enrollment Program

This program is aimed at attracting outstanding international students to pursue graduate degrees (Master’s and Doctoral) in China, and operates on a principle of “individual application, institutional recommendation, expert review, and selective admission,” targeting students with strong academic backgrounds, professional skills, and promising future potential.

Doctoral and Master’s Candidates

03 Scholarship Duration

Master’s degree candidates are eligible for a scholarship duration of 2 to 3 years, while Doctoral candidates can receive funding for 3 to 4 years.

04 Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship includes coverage of tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance. Further details can be found on the website of China Scholarship Council (https://www.campuschina.org/).

05 Application Deadline

The application deadline is February 20, 2025 (Early submission is encouraged).

01 Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals, holding a valid passport, in good health, and with outstanding academic achievements.

2. Applicants must adhere to Chinese laws, university regulations, and institutional policies.

3. Master’s applicants must be under 35 years of age and hold a Bachelor’s degree; Doctoral applicants must be under 40 years of age and hold a Master’s degree. Applicants who are recent graduates must obtain the corresponding degree recognized by the state prior to enrollment.

4. Language Proficiency:

Native English speakers may be exempt from providing proof of English proficiency for Master’s or Doctoral programs taught in English or Chinese. Non-native English speakers must submit an official English proficiency score (IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 or higher) or other equivalent proof of English proficiency. For programs taught in Chinese, applicants must have an HSK Level 4 or higher.

5. Applicants must meet the academic and other requirements set by CDUT.

02 Application Process

1. Complete the Application in the China Scholarship Council System

Apply through the China Scholarship Council’s “Chinese Government Scholarship Information System.”(http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/register)

*Note: Select “Category B” and use CDUT’s Institution Number 10616.

2. Complete the Online Application at CDUT

Log into the “CDUT International Students Service Platform” (https://cdut.at0086.cn/student) to upload your application materials.

3. Application Review

CDUT will review applications and may conduct online exams, interviews, or other assessments, notifying shortlisted candidates via email. Applicants should check their email frequently and maintain clear communication.

03 Application Materials

1. A recent passport-sized photo

2. Passport personal information page

3. Notarized highest degree certificate

4. Academic transcripts (from undergraduate studies onward)

5. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors

6. Study Plan, including personal statement, research achievements, goals, and plans (over 1000 words), written in either Chinese or English

7. Proof of language proficiency

8. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners

Applicants must undergo the required physical examination items as outlined in Physical Examination Record for Foreigners. This record is valid for 6 months.

9. Certificate of No Criminal Conviction

Applicants must submit a valid, recent (usually within 6 months before submission) criminal background certificate issued by the local public security bureau. If unable to provide this certificate, applicants must sign and upload Non-criminal Record Affirmation.

10. Statement of Financial Support

The financial guarantor must be an individual with full civil capacity, over 18 years of age, and a stable income source. The financial guarantor must fill out Statement of Financial Support truthfully and provide a scanned copy of the guarantor’s passport homepage or ID card.

11. International students graduating in China must submit a residence permit page and a performance certificate from their current school.

12. Other certificates, award proofs, published academic article summaries, etc. (if available).

Important Notes

All application materials must be written in Chinese or English. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations. Application materials must be clear, complete, authentic, and valid. Applicants are advised to scan the required documents using professional equipment.

Each applicant is only allowed to submit one Category B application for the same academic year. If the applicant has multiple preferred institutions, they must select one as their final institution for the scholarship. Once submitted, the Category B application will be considered as the applicant’s final choice of university.
