In pursuit of further industry-education integration and to advance the development of the provincial modern industrial college for lithium resources and lithium batteries, on June 27th, a delegation consisting of four members and led by Associate Dean Professor Zhou Kun, attended the 2024 International Lithium Energy Conference (the LEC) in Shehong City.
The LEC was a gathering ground for global experts, scholars, corporate leaders, and policy-makers from the lithium battery new energy sector to explore future trends, technological advancements, market demands, and the policy landscape of the industry. Throughout the event, CDUT engaged in deeper dialogues with Suining’s lithium battery enterprises and government bodies, fostering tripartite collaboration between government, industry, and academia. Discussions with representatives from leading firms centered on the evolving trends in lithium battery technology and the necessity for industry-education integration, offering insights and recommendations for refining CDUT’s “industry-specific” talent cultivation programs. CDUT is committed to developing a curriculum and projects that are closely aligned with practical work demands, aiming to better serve the industry’s growth and contribute to the establishment of the provincial modern industrial university for lithium resources and lithium batteries.
The LEC also featured a tour of the National Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Lithium Battery Materials and Products. Once operational, the center is expected to serve as a model and leader in national quality inspection, proactively supporting significant projects within the lithium battery sector, aiding enterprises in upgrading and reducing operational costs. It is poised to drive innovation, foster the integrated development of industry, academia, research, inspection, and application, and collaborate on research into lithium battery testing methods and the development and amendment of international and domestic standards. The center will ensure comprehensive inspection and testing capabilities for lithium battery materials and product quality, providing essential services for technology R&D and quality supervision across the province and beyond, offering vital technical support for the high-quality economic and social progress.
Participation in the LEC represented a significant step in implementing and deepening the collaborative approaches between government, enterprises, and universities, laying a robust foundation for the further integration of these sectors, the advancement of building up the lithium resource and lithium battery industry university, and the nurturing of professionals in the lithium battery industry.
