Oxford Brookes University’s Director of Global Recruitment Visits CDUT

On March 31, 2025, Mr. Francis Glover, Director of Global Recruitment at Oxford Brookes University, visited Oxford Brookes College at Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT). He met with Mr. Lang Xianguo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of International Exchanges & Cooperation of CDUT; Ms. Li Shan, Dean of the College; and Ms. Zhong Yingjia, Executive Vice Dean of the College.

During the meeting, Secretary Lang provided an overview of our university’s educational strengths and achievements in international collaboration. Dean Li Shan interpreted the tuition and scholarship policies tailored for international students. She emphasized that, according to the partnership agreement between the two universities, Oxford Brookes College at CDUT is eligible to enroll international students. Upon graduation, students may receive dual degrees from both Chinese and British institutions, which significantly broadens opportunities for joint international talent development. She also noted that since CDUT was designated as a Chinese Government Scholarship host institution in 2024, it has established a multi-tiered, comprehensive scholarship system, greatly enhancing its competitiveness in attracting international students.

Mr. Francis Glover expressed his sincere gratitude to CDUT for its long-standing support of Oxford Brookes University. He then introduced recent updates to the university’s admissions policies and academic programs, which are designed to better meet the evolving demands of the global job market. He elaborated on the new initiatives targeting international students and conveyed a strong interest in furthering collaboration in the recruitment and training of international students.

The two parties reached several agreements on topics including overseas study programs, student exchanges, international admissions, and summer schools. Since the establishment of Oxford Brookes College in 2005, the joint venture has offered four undergraduate programs: Software Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, and Computer Science and Technology. To date, over 4,000 students with international perspectives have been cultivated. This recent exchange and discussion have further solidified the partnership between the two institutions and laid a strong foundation for deeper collaboration in international education.
