On the morning of September 8, CDUT officially welcomed more than 11,000 new students at its 2025 Opening Ceremony, held simultaneously at the Chengdu Campus East Sports Ground and the Yibin Campus Phase II Sports Ground, with live broadcast connecting the two venues. With curiosity, ambition, and hope for the future, the freshmen now proudly joins the ranks of CDUT students, becoming part of CDUT’s legacy and embracing the motto: Seeking Truth, Seeking Triumph.

The ceremony was attended by Liu Qingyou, Party Secretary of CDUT, Xu Qiang, President of CDUT, Hu Bing, Deputy Party Secretary of CDUT, Tang Qingli, Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision at CDUT, Deputy Party Secretary of CDUT, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission at CDUT, Hou Mingcai, Ju Nengpan, Zhou Zhongli, Zeng Guoqiang and Guo Qiang, Vice Presidents of CDUT, along with Luo Chuntao, Vice Mayor of Yibin, Deng Xu, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Chenghua District in Chengdu, and distinguished alumnus Liu Zhifei, tenured professor at Tongji University, Distinguished Young Scholar of National Science Fund, and Changjiang Scholar. Leaders from Yibin, Chenghua District at Chengdu as well as representatives from university departments and colleges also joined. The Chengdu ceremony was hosted by Ju Nengpan, while Zhou Zhongli presided over the Yibin event.

The opening began with the solemn flag-raising and national anthem ceremony. As the flag guard marched in step and the Five-Star Red Flag ascended to the stirring sound of the anthem, the entire assembly stood at attention. Freshmen, immersed in the solemnity of the moment, pledged themselves to diligent study for China’s development and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese people.
